This time last year, my kitchen did not have a man in it - so my kitchen towel designs were more feminine in design ... Holland's love snuck up on me, and before I knew it my solo lobo life and been turned on it's ear, and changes were needed to include a masculine presence in the Home.
In March we decided to become full-time RVr's: the house I shared with my 1st husband was put up for sale - and we added a "furry son" (a blue-heeler puppy) to our new life, in April. The house sold quickly, and we were on the road to West Virginia to pick up the 5th Wheel RV that would become our New Home. Since then, we have traveled nearly 2 dozen States while slowly building a comfy Home together, and making the RV {ours}.
My new husband likes to cook ... we've been married 8 months, and I've only cooked 3 meals in all that time; so I am setting up the kitchen for his comfort while he's in it - currently, I have been designing kitchen towels that he will feel comfortable using.
I have been replacing the solo lobo feminine kitchen towels with newer and updated kitchen towels leaning towards patterns with a masculine appeal for my manly man. Currently I am working on longer and wider Chef Towel designs: smaller, oven-handle-hanging kitchen hand towels are great for a quick wiping of damp hands, but Holland is 6'4" tall - he has hands that are quite a bit bigger than mine. His hands need hand towels that "go the distance" (don't get damp so fast) while he's preparing tasty delights.
Holland's need for larger kitchen towels gave me a great opportunity to bring refreshing new changes that fit our new life. Holland likes simplicity in his surroundings; he doesn't like to be surrounded by fussy feminine things (I get that); on the other hand, I live here too ... and I like color, texture, and eye appeal. So, I designed and worked up this longer/wider simple chef's towel ... and he's okay with the colors, textures, shapes, and materials I've chosen ;-)
The colorful material will add Holiday color to Arizona's desert landscape (we are pulling stakes here, and headed there in a few days), where we will be spending the next 6 months.
I hope you will enjoy this new design, too :-)
