Our lives have changed so much since January 7th, 2023 ... New Marriage/New Life: the blending of two into one, gets dicey at times - daily life on the road adds more dicey complications. This is our story of our life in our 5th wheel RV Home. I post about anything & everything, and if what I post can help someone else, I'm glad for the experience. But from sunrise to sunset, we live our Life for US.
May 9th: Today was my Gal Pal Bible Study Day in Rosburg.
Valley Bible Church, Rosburg-WA from Ocean Park-WA; 54 min (42.6 mi) via Sandridge Rd, US-101 N and WA-4 E
I was up and ready to go - early: I was excited to see everyone.
I had sufficient time to paint my fingernails to match the top I wore …
And Holland came with me; with my unstable asthma, and the beach warning alarm going off willy-nilly … neither one of us wanted to leave the other one alone for any length of time - we only have one vehicle now, and I didn't want to leave Holland behind in Ocean Park, with no way of escape if the tsunami warning siren went off again.
So, he came with me :-)
The Day started with a beautiful blue sky.
The ocean breeze was warming on the skin.
The music filling Betsy's cab was enjoyable.
Convo was light and playful.
Holland has uploaded some 1970's Music Playlists - and he included several songs I like.
Argent -'Hold Your Head Up' song:
Passing over the Willapa Bay Bridge … my eyes went to the road running alongside the beach-side of the Bay, and I said, "One of these days I'm going to turn off and follow that road to see exactly where it goes. I've never been on it before, and I'm curious. The way it runs along the waterway, I think it will come out in downtown Naselle."
Willapa Bay Bridge & road I want to explore someday.
Holland glanced at it, and said, "It probably dead ends."I quipped, "Well, there's only one way to find out - and one of these days, I'm going to find out; I used to do that kind of thing quite a bit when I was a solo lobo."
The drive to Rosburg went smoothly, and we arrived a little before schedule; that was okay.
Holland would have been welcome to join us inside the building, but he opted to stay in Betsy the entire time I was there - which was about 3 hours: Bible Study, then tune sandwich & no-bake cookies lunch with Becky & Ramona, afterwards ;-)
The girls went outside periodically to try to drag him in … but he remained outside researching things on my Tablet until I joined him for the drive back home.
This free baby Spider Plant came home with me ;-)
I asked him why he didn't come in, "Why didn't you come in? You were welcome to - the girls want to meet you."He said, "This is your time; you can talk about girl stuff - girls tend to go mute when guys are in the room."I laughed, and said, "You don't know my girls: we talk about anything and everything … even with our fellas standing next to us; we are not shy."
And it's true that that everyone I know wants to meet him. One of the women there, said, "I saw this red truck in the driveway, and when I asked whose it was - and who was sitting in it, everyone said, 'that's Val's truck; and Val's husband is sitting in it."She then added, "I said, 'Val got married? When???'" And we all started laughing, and I said, "I got married last January. Believe me, no one is more surprised that I am married, than I am." Which made everyone laugh harder, because I had been pretty adamant in 2022 that remarriage was not on my radar … but that was before Elohim placed Holland solidly in my life and blipped my radar in the Fall of 2022, which led to a Reno Wedding in the New Year of 2023 - which led to life as road gypsies through the summer of 2023 to the present ;-)
Maybe he'll join us next time … if not for study, at least for lunch. We are all praying for a men's bible study to open up; Holland has asked about that, and the women there said there used to be one. Maybe the asking, and a willing new man in the mix will prompt them to start one up, again ;-)
On the way back to Ocean Park, Holland favored me, and drove through {downtown} Naselle, turning right onto Parpala Road - it did run from the Bay into Naselle; I kinda though it would, but didn't know for sure. Now I know, and I may take that side road occasionally, just for a change of scenery.
I finally explored this side road … it was a new adventure for both of us; Holland had never been on it, either :-)
It's a narrow 2-lane country road: just the kind of road I like to drive on warm, sunny days. We also saw a 'Honey for Sale' sign, so every now and then I may have a husband passenger.
Holland played Supertramp the whole way: I was feeling pretty spoiled … and liking the warm mood :-)

And of course, we made a stop in Long Beach to enjoy the warm, sunny, beach :-)
In this Book, the aged and experienced *Apostle Paul, write to the young pastor **Timothy - who is facing a heavy burden(something difficult or unpleasant that you have to deal with or worry about: the burden of responsibility) of responsibility(duty or task that you are required or expected to do. Something that you should do because it is morally right, legally required, etc. The state of having the job or duty of dealing with and taking care of something or someone. The quality of a person who can be trusted to do what is expected, required, etc.) in the Church at Ephesus(Ephesus very appropriately symbolizes the condition of the ***church in its first state of purity in the days of the apostles of ****Christ. They received His doctrine and held it, and enjoyed the benefits and blessings of the gifts of the *****Ruach HaKo'desh).
Ephesus: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephesus)
The task is challenging: false doctrine must be erased, public worship safeguarded(to protect something from harm; ex: the union safeguards the interests of all its members), and mature(to take responsibility for actions rather than blame others; mature people will take a far-sighted view of things and act in a considered, rather than a spontaneous manner) leadership developed. In addition to the conduct of the Church, Paul talks pointedly about the conduct of the minister(a minister is a man of God; he must have certain characteristics - he is to be a man after ******Elohim's heart, a man of the Word, one who loves Yeshua Ha'Mashiach, seeks Elohim's face, serves the church, preaches the gospel, and hungers for Elohim's presence). Timothy must be on his guard(watch over in order to protect against damage or harm) lest his youthfulness become a liability(be held responsible for a given situation), rather than as asset(useful or valuable thing, person, or quality), to the #Gospel. He must be careful to avoid false teachers and greedy(having or showing an intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth or power)motives(a reason for doing something) … instead pursue(to chase, follow, and trail after) instead righteousness(in its deeper spiritual meaning, righteousness is the quality of being right in the eyes of God, including character = nature, conscience = attitude, conduct = action, and command = word. Righteousness is, therefore, based upon Elohim's standard; because He is the ultimate Lawgiver (Isaiah 33:22)), godliness(the quality or practice of conforming to the laws and wishes of Elohim; devoutness and moral uprightness: reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life), faith, love, perseverance(to persist, withstand, and patiently bear all things), and the gentleness(sensitivity of action and kindness of behavior, founded on strength and prompted by love. Gentleness is suggested as soft flowing waters of a stream (Isaiah 8:6) or by wine slowly flowing over lips and teeth (Song of Solomon 7:9)) that befits (what is proper or becoming of)a man of God(has a love for God with the maturity and authority about him that sets him apart from the rest of the males in the world; a man that is seeking God and seeking to fulfill God's purposes for his life; a man who has perspectives that are biblical and honorable).
The Greek title for this letter is Pros Timotheon A = the "First to Timothy". Paul wrote 1 Timothy from Macedonia in 62-63 A.D., while Timothy was serving as his representative in Ephesus - and perhaps in other meeting places in the province of Asia. Timothy was to appoint(to name or assign to a position, an office, or the like; designate = put in place) elders, combat false doctrine, and supervise church life as an apostolic representative.

TIMOTHY ~ Chapter 1
Paul's Past Charge to Timothy (vv 1 thru 11)
"Paul, an apostle to Yeshua Ha'Mashiach, by the commandment of ******Elohei Tzur Yishi our Savior and Yeshua Ha'Mashiach, our hope, to Timothy, my true son of the Faith(The closest that the Bible comes to offering an exact definition is Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” From this particular passage we understand that the central feature of scriptural faith is confidence or trust; the object of faith is Elohim and His promises in Yeshua Ha'Mashiach): grace, mercy, and peace from Elohim our Father and Yeshua Ha'Mashiach our Lord (Galatians 1:3).
As I urged(to recommend or advocate something strongly) you when I went to Macedonia - remain in Ephesus that you may command some that they teach no other doctrine(a belief or set of beliefs held and taught; Acts 20:1, 3 & Galatians 1:6,7); nor give heed to fables(fables employ animals, plants, inanimate objects, or forces of nature as characters = to invent; to devise and speak of, as true or real; mythical stories that have no basis in reality) and endless genealogies (familial bloodlines), which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.
Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere(sincerity = from the Latin sincerus, "without wax" = honey separated from the wax is perfectly pure. In Scripture sincere (ἄδολος, εἱλικρινής) signifies pure, without mixture) faith (Ephesians 6:24)), from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk - desiring to be teachers of The Law(Torah refers to the law, especially the law of Moses), understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm. But we know that The Law is good if one uses it lawfully (Romans 7:12 & 16), knowing this: that The Law was not made for a righteous person … but for the lawless(not held back by law; unruly) and insubordinate(will not submit impulses nor intuitions to the teachings or examples of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach), for the ungodly(without God, estranged from the Life of God, whom he neither fears nor serves) and for sinners(one that lives without law = The Word of God is the Law that each one of us is responsible to keep; when one does not obey the Law of God, he lives without law. John says it this way: "Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the Law: for sin is the transgression of the Law"; 1 John 3:4), for the profane(unholy, godless, regardless of God = heathen; pagan), for murders of fathers and murders of mothers, for manslayers(Hebrew = מרִצֵּח, meratstse'äch, & ἀνδροφόνος, a murderer), for fornicators(a person who has sex with someone who they are not married to), for sodomites(person who actively engages in homosexual acts), for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers(a person who lies under oath), and if there is any other thing that is contrary(being opposite in thought and deed; to be in conflict with) to sound doctrine according to the glorious(gives honor, dignity, and majesty to Elohim) gospel of the blessed God, which was committed(to give oneself entirely to Elohim; Psalm 37:5) to my trust(an arrangement whereby a person (a trustee) is placed in position to administer advise and/or commands for the good of one or more) - (1 Corinthians 9:17).
Yeshua's Past Charge to Paul
(vv 12 thru 17)
And I thank Yeshua our Lord Who has enabled(the gracious act of helping someone accomplish something that could not be done alone) me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into ministry(the service of Elohim by divine call to service by-/example of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach), although I was formerly(at an earlier time) a blasphemer (refers to great disrespect shown to Elohim or to something holy; something said or done that shows this kind of disrespect), a persecutor(to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict. specifically : to cause to suffer because of belief), and an insolent(showing a rude, arrogant, and contemptuous lack of respect for those with whom they disagree) man; but I obtained(to gain or attain usually by planned action or effort)mercy(the compassionate treatment of those in distress, especially when it is within one's power to punish or harm them) because I did it ignorantly(from, or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence; ignorant errors = unaware, uninformed) in unbelief(Acts 8:3*violently arrogant*John 4:21).
And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly(to a very great degree)abundant(present in great quantity; more than), with faith and love which are in Yeshua Ha'Mashiach (Romans 5:20).
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Yeshua Ha'Mashiach came into the world to save sinners - of whom I am chief (Isaiah 53:5 & Matthew 1:21; 19:13).
However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Yeshua Ha'Mashiach might show all longsuffering(a person who is not quick to take retaliation or to punish; very patient), as a pattern (a model or design used as a guide) to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting Life.
Now to the King eternal(Hebrew נִצחִי = eternal, timeless, everlasting, immortal, perpetual, undying), immortal(Hebrew בן אלמוות = immortal, undying, deathless, everlasting), invisible(Hebrew סָמוּי = unseen) - to Elohim Who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

First Charge: "Wage the Good Warfare"
(vv 18 thru 20)
This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies(a prediction or an utterance from a prophet inspired by his god) previously made concerning you - that by them you may wage(carry on = move forward with campaign) the good warfare(spiritual warfare refers to the battle in the spiritual realm between God's kingdom and Satan's kingdom; the conflict between light and darkness and good and evil. Ephesians 6:12), having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the Faith have suffered shipwreck(being caught up in the cares of this world & broken to pieces by the hopelessness of sin); of whom are Hymenaeus(Hymenaeus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hymenaeus_(biblical_figure)#:~:text=6%20Bibliography-,Biblical%20accounts,might%20learn%20not%20to%20blaspheme.) and Alexander(Alexander the Coppersmith: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_the_Coppersmith#:~:text=Alexander%20the%20Coppersmith%20(Greek%3A%20%E1%BC%88%CE%BB%CE%AD%CE%BE%CE%B1%CE%BD%CE%B4%CF%81%CE%BF%CF%82,him%20according%20to%20his%20deeds.%22), whom I delivered to ^Lucifer that they may learn not to blaspheme (Acts 1:45)."
*Apostle Paul = known as Saul before he converted to Christianity (Acts 9), was the chief killer of Christians following Yeshua’s death, resurrection, and ascension – being the foremost witness to the stoning of Stephen (Acts 7).
The Apostle Paul was one of the most influential leaders of the early Christian Church. He played a crucial role in spreading the gospel to the Gentiles (non-Jews) during the first century, and his missionary journeys took him all throughout the Roman empire.
**Timothy = son of the devout Jewish woman, Eunice, and a Greek father, Timothy became a follower of Yeshua Ha’Mashiach when Apostle Paul preached the Gospel in Lystra, Timothy’s hometown. Paul invited the young convert to accompany him on his second missionary journey; and was sent to Thessalonica to strengthen the fellowship there. After another journey with Paul, Timothy was sent to Corinth to straighten out some problems upsetting the fellowship there.
Timothy later looked after Paul during Paul’s imprisonment.
Timothy subsequently was asked to go to Ephesus to represent Paul, and received the two letters from Paul that bear Timothy’s Name. Timothy – these letters reveal, was like a son to Paul. The last word in the New Covenant about this sensitive, sickly, but faithful young helper was that he was imprisoned but finally released. Acts 16:1, 17:14-15, 18:5, 19:22 & 20:4; Romans 16:21; 1 Corinthians 4;17 & 16:10; 2 Corinthians1:1 & 19; Colossians 1:1; 1 Thessalonians 1:1, 3:2, & 6; 2 Thessalonians 1:1; 1 & 2 Timothy; Philemon 1; and Hebrews 13:23.
***Church = The word translated "Church" is the translation of the Greek term ekklesia, and is used in the New Covenant (New Testament) to identify the community of believers in Yeshua Ha'Mashiach. This word is the Greek words kaleo (to call), with the prefix ek (out). Thus, the word means "the called out ones."
However, the English word "Church" does not come from ekklesia but from the word kuriakon, which means "dedicated to the Lord."
Believer: someone who has put faith and trust in the redemptive work of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach through His death on the cross and subsequent resurrection.
****Yeshua Ha’Mashiach: is Hebrew for “Jesus the Messiah”; the name Jesus is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Yeshua.
Christ (from the Hebrew word, Ha’Mashiach ישוע המשיח & the Greek word, Christos/khris-tos) = The Anointed, Yeshua the Messiah, in both languages.
Lord Jesus Christ (in Greek: Kyrios Iēsous Christos) = the most formal title for Jesus (Yeshua). It occurs often in the New Testament letters.
The word “Lord” has a wide range of uses; it can be a simple respectful “Sir” or a more formal, “Master.” But the New Testament also uses “Lord” of God. The word “Christ” is the anglicized form of the Greek word meaning “anointed one” or “Messiah.” “Lord Jesus Christ” reminds us that Jesus is both the promised Messiah and our God.
*****Ruach HaKo'desh(The Hebrew language phrase ruach ha-kodesh is pronounced ROO-akh-KOH-desh: רוח הקודש, "holy spirit" also transliterated ruaḥ ha-qodesh) is used in the Hebrew Bible and Jewish writings to refer to the spirit of YHWH (רוח יהוה); the Holy Spirit occurs 90 times in the Brit Chadashah. Luke 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, & 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:8; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 6:9; & Jude 1:20.
The New Testament is called the B'rit Chadashah in Hebrew, meaning "New Covenant" (the word B'rit means "covenant" and Chadashah means "new").
******Elohim(Hebrew: אֱלֹהִים, romanized: ʾּlōhīm: [(eloˈ(h)im]) is a Hebrew word meaning "Gods – Father, Son, & Holy Spirit". Although the word is plural in form, in the Hebrew Bible it usually refers to a single deity “Behold, the Lord – the Lord is One”, particularly the God of Israel.
Elohei Tzur Yishi = Hebrew: Rock of my salvation (2 Samuel 22:47) - rock is poetically used to indicate the strength of God as the ground of all being in the universe.
^Lucifer = A name for the leader of the devils; an angel who was cast from heaven into hell because he rebelled against Elohim. Lucifer is usually identified with Satan. The name Lucifer, which means “bearer of light” or “morning star,” refers to his former splendor as the greatest of the angels (Isaiah 14:12-15).
#Gospel: the word is derived from the Anglo-Saxon term, god-spell, meaning “good story”; Biblically speaking, gospel is a rendering of the Latin evangelium and the Greek euangelion, meaning “good news” or “good telling”.
May 8th: We were drinking our coffee, and listening to some tunes … and talking about driving down the road a bit to put diesel in Betsy's tank so I could drive to Rosburg and back, Thursday morning; while going that way I asked Holland if we could drive into Long Beach to Marsh's Museum to see if they had tiny dried starfish (I wanted to string them on my shells garland) - and maybe try to find 'Clark's Tree', too, before coming back home.
Holland agreed, and off we drove.
The sky was blue, and clear; wispy clouds were far and few between - the sunshine felt good on our exposed skin - and Dire Straits fit the mood of the Day :-)

Along the way, Holland decided to take a side trip :-)
Holland showed me the lodge he had worked on; I was excited - I like to see the buildings he has worked on.
He lived onsite for 3 months, while working on the extension construction.
A surprise … Chautauqua Resort & Conference Center; #304 14th St NW, Long Beach, WA 98631
Holland took me to the lodge he did expansion construction on, in his early 20's.
Chautauqua Resort & Conference Center:

The Peninsula has exploded on growth since the 1980's.
A construction site fire happened, and they had to restart construction again.
I like it when my husband shows me a glimpse of his Past.
Then we turned right at the end of the street, and made tracks for downtown Long Beach-WA.
I went to Marsh's Museum in search of miniature starfish: they didn't have any… but, I walked the interior anyway, reliving childhood memories & I bought 3 necklaces - no metal on any of them; and I put one of them on, immediately. It matched my top :-)
I had seen a sign for the 'historical tree' last time we drove into town … and I have read online articles raving about "seeing Clark's Tree": I was curious.
I like History - and walking across America always intrigued me; it must have been so exciting!
President Thomas Jefferson planned the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1803. They had found the sources of the Missouri and the major tributaries of the Columbia, followed the Columbia to the sea, collected detailed information about the plants, animals, geography, and inhabitants of the region, and laid the groundwork for American expansion to the coast. On November 8, 1805, the expedition arrived at the Pacific Ocean.
I used to take off on adventures all the time without undue concern over my asthma; but, I am no longer a carefree solo lobo - Holland's concerns now have to become my concerns … and I have had more than a couple serious asthma attacks since we got married: his concerns are justified.
So, I shot a few puffs off my inhaler into my mouth to assure my husband I would "be safe", kissed Holland … and started my walk. I think it was about a half hour, round trip, from start to finish.
On the search for 'Clark's Tree'; Long Beach-WA
A good stretch of the legs …
It was a sunny day - but the ocean winds were strongly brisk.
Looking over the landscape around me, I tried to feel some of what the explorers may have felt as they passed this way … I tried to visualize what they saw, through my eyes that were seeing this place for the first time, too.
Lewis and Clark Expedition:

Aha!
A FAKE RESIN TREE! They did try to make it appear realistic - but the shiny plastic patina gave it away.
That tree was ridiculous - BUT I enjoyed a nice, sunny walk.
And there, sits my Knight Errant - patiently waiting, in his red 'steed' ;-)
My heart rate was a normal range for walking speed.
On our way back to Independence in Ocean Park, we stopped by David's beach lot to visit with him. It was a good, long visit, and we'll set up on his property again when our time (a month's stay, paid for) at the RV Park, here is up.
We stopped by David's & stayed a while; we'll be close neighbors again, this time next month :-)
