ENJOYABLE DAY~Historic Kingman-AZ/Pt. #2

March 8th: This afternoon we had plans to visit Holland's Aunt Gaye ❤️ … then take another spin through Historic Old Town Kingman 😊

Today would be an enjoyable day πŸ‘Œ

Makeup went on quick; thank the Lord - then we were on our way:

'Impulse' Browline highlight; 'Hype' Entire eyelid shade.
'Lt. Blue' in eyelid crease & 'Green' for upper and lower liners: Neutre Enflamme CrΓ¨me Blush; Blue Mist Mascara; Pink Sand CrΓ¨me Lipstick
'Auburn' Brow Gel; Face on … a light spritz of 'White Diamonds' perfume.
And we're on our way.

We visited with Aunt Gaye for about 3 hours; when we left, she had friends coming in that dove-tailed with our goodbyes. Aunt Gaye is a fun person, and the visit was good for all of us. We'll be here, in Kingman, for a month & we'll be visiting her often ❤️

Our visit with Aunt Gaye was good, for all of us. Love bounced off the walls πŸ˜Š

When we left Aunt Gaye, we drove back to Historic Old Town Kingman: there were some sights we had missed our last visit there due to road work - and we wanted to find the Court House (the building we had thought was the old court house, wasn't).

Today's visit was a fun outing, and research later on at home garnered interesting information (not as much informative, as it was {interesting}) πŸ˜‰

There is housing right up to the flanks of the mountains.

June is coming up on us, so fast; I'm really going to miss AZ vista's. We've exhausted all possibilities of staying, but it's not  possible.

We kicked around the idea of a burger - but, Holland has adventurous explorations planned for me, starting tomorrow 😘 … so, I suggested a quick meal at home so we could funnel $$ towards our upcoming Daytrip.

I do like hamburgers; but I like road trips, better 😁

While munching on chips, I watched an old vintage black-n-white movie - then, I ran elastic thread through the top loops of a recently finished pair of knit slippers; and started another pair (same design, different color scheme). I never wear shoes at home/always slippers πŸ˜‰

Tonight will be an early to bed night because tomorrow we'll be road tripping πŸ‘

Sandwich & Chips for Supper.
I like this spin on an old fashioned slipper pattern - the toe area isn't so bulky.
Another pair, in progress.

GRANDMOTHER'S SLIPPERS - Internet Public Domain Pattern

Size: Adjustable (children to adult)

Materials: About 150 yds. each of 2 colors of worsted wt. yarn  (Color A and Color B)

Size #8 (5 mm) needles

Pompom maker
Tapestry needle

Gauge: 7 sts = 2", 6 rows (3 ridges) = 1" in garter st on size 8 needles

Slipper (make 2)

With 2 strands held together, cast on 29.

Foot portion:

Row 1: Knit across.

Row 2: Knit 9, purl 1, knit 9, purl 1, knit 9.

Repeat these 2 rows until garter stitch portion measures approx. 4"-5" for children, 6"-8" for adults.

Begin ribbed toe portion:

Row 1: *Knit 1, purl 1, rep from * across.

Row 2: Knit the knit stitches and purl the purl stitches as they face you to form knit 1, purl 1 ribbing.

Repeat last row until ribbed portion measures approx. 2" for children, 3"-4" for adults, or until measurement of piece from beginning is 1/2" less than total foot length. On last row of ribbing, decrease one stitch so there are 28 stitches remaining.

For pointy-toe version:

Decrease for toe: *Knit 2 together, rep from * across (14 sts)
Next row: Purl across (14 st)
Next row: *Knit 2 together, rep from * across (7 sts)
Next row: Purl across (7 sts)

For round-toe version:

Decrease for toe: *Knit 2 together, rep from * across (14 sts)

Cut yarn, leaving tail long enough for sewing toe seam. Gather remaining stitches together (by running yarn through stitches on needle and pulling tight to close toe), then sew toe seam until you reach the garter stitch portion. Finish off and weave in ends. With separate length of yarn, sew up heel seam.

If desired, make 2 large, fluffy pompoms, using both Color A and Color B together, and attach to top of slipper.
