BAD BOYS: Mac & Bleu ~WA Coast

'Bad Boys' Theme Song from 'Cops' series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBD8M3WFrAw

September 11th: The morning started out calm and peaceful.

Seasonal goodness ;-)
Supper tonight - Patriot Foods 'Fireside Stew'; enough for 2

We enjoyed our coffee, put Bleu outside to 'do his constitutional' and frisk about with Mac; and spent about an half an hour talking about the stuff that needed to get done: Holland was planning on running into the next town to check on an oil change for the 4x; taking the garbage to the local Dump - and picking up a few groceries on the way back Home: I put hamburger out to thaw, planned on pulling the Pumpkin Spice protein shakes up out of the 'basement', finish up laundry … and mop the floors (cleaning the carpet will wait a bit; possibly Thursday). Tomorrow we will be canning two cases of Tuna, so today would be a full, and busy day for both of us.

All that changed when Holland was getting ready to leave - and planned on taking Bleu with him.

Bleu was no where in sight.

Bleu did not appear when called - or whistled for.

Holland went next door to retrieve him … and he wasn't there: David thought both dogs had been with us: the sneaky pups had given us the proverbial 'slip'.

Both men called for their wayward pups.

I stepped outside our 5th wheel, and whistled for Bleu.

Nothing.

David walked up the road to see if he could spot them: they would be in trouble, but at least we'd know where they were.

Nothing.

Holland got in Betsy, and trolled the road - both directions. We were all concerned - the boys had never ignored us; they always came when called.

Were they hurt?

Had they been hijacked?

They are handsome, friendly fella's, and Bleu is a pureblood - it was a possibility if they'd run too far afield.

Mac has a tag, Bleu doesn't.

The furry boys are in serious trouble - they've slipped away, and are ignoring our calls & whistles.
They came home after Holland went looking for them the next street over

The dogs came running out of the brush as Holland was driving the next street over calling for them: we didn't think thy could have been a mile away … but they did come running home when Holland went looking and calling for them. A mile away.

Mac was immediately leashed.

Bleu was corralled and leashed when Holland came back up the driveway.

They both stayed leashed all day long; they were both very bad dogs. They both needed to understand the seriousness of the situation :-(

The were separated, and leashed up ALL DAY LONG. Discipline is an uncomfortable circumstance of a rebellious situation.

Holland drove into the next town and completed what he originally set out to do before the dogs went MIA.

But he was back home again before I finished mopping the floors - but like the good husband he is, he backed out of the house again when he heard me say from the back room, "wet floors!" … and removed his shoes before entering again :-)

He made me guacamole (the best!) for lunch, and we relaxed with a light snack to tide us over until Supper time.

Garbage taken care of - thanks to a friendly tip off ;-)
Holland's Guacamole is always a treat to enjoy.

Afterwards, I got the laundry underway, and watched a movie while finishing up another towel set as Supper cooked.

I watched an old movie, while working on another kitchen towel set; this clip reminds me of my Jewel Quest Game ;-)
Jewel Quest Game; not as easy as it looks.

We chose another Patriot's Foods supper packet, adding extra ingredients to it for a fuller flavor meal.

We always add meat and extra ingredients to the 'Patriot Foods' basic recipes.
Patriot Food's 'Fireside Stew' - noodles, lentils, dried carrot; Baked Potato & Cottage Cheese.

Then Bleu was let back in the house to eat his supper … and get a bath: he was so filthy from his outdoor adventure.

Bleu getting a shower; he was so filthy after his 'bad dog day'.
Bleu - looking and smelling a lot better ;-)

Harmony was restored.

Relaxation was enjoyed.

And tomorrow is a doggie-dream-promise of a better day ;-)
