BUILDING UP IN LOVE, TOGETHER; Self-Care~Ocean Park-WA

We're building a Life. A Home.

Separately; together: for ourselves & for each other.

Tomorrow, I have a dentist appointment, and Wednesday, we'll be driving to Longview-WA. But, until Wednesday I'll be sticking to my fat loss goal 🙏, and living lean 😉

It's recommended that seniors (when able) engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise = 20 minutes daily or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise each week = 11 minutes daily. Broken down like this, makes sticking to exercise goals much easier 👍

Low impact exercise will fall into the moderate range if you can raise your heart rate enough so that you can talk but not sing.

Sometimes low impact exercise can become vigorous. That means you can say a few words but you are not able to hold a conversation.

1 bottle of protein Drink halved with water, daily; divided between 2 bottles.

I made my ramen noodles today with the seasoning packet, 2 tsp. of Garlic Honey, & a dash of Chinese 5-Spice that I made - while Holland watched me, and said, "It smells like licorice": and it does smell like black licorice 😉

I have an old coffee bean grinder that I saved specifically for grinding spices to make spice blends. My spice collection is the one thing I stood fast and firm on when Holland was insisting on severe cutbacks at the start of our Road Gypsy Journey, 2-1/2 years ago. I'm a spicy woman 😂🤣& I cook with spices 😘

Chinese 5-Spice is very pungent, and it is a wonderful treat for your tongue's taste buds. When made with anise seed stars, it is even more so 😊

Homemade Chinese 5-Spice: 6 Allspice berries, whole (because I do not have Anise Seed Stars; whole, or otherwise) * 1-1/2 tsp. Fennel seeds, whole * 1-1/2 tsp. Szechuan Peppercorns, whole * 3/4 tsp. Cloves, whole * 3 TBSP Cinnamon, ground

Place whole spices in a coffee grinder, and grind to a powder.

Store in a spice jar.

We got out of the house and down to the beach, too.

And when we got back to the Park, there was a package waiting at the Office for us; we still have things comings, but today, this faucet was waiting and Holland is excited to get it set in place.

While he inspected it, & made sure all the pieces came with it … I did a couple loads of laundry; and was happy to note that the afghan I made for my big man held to size with no discernable shrinkage: ((THANK YOU, LORD)) 😁

The new kitchen faucet Holland had ordered, 'for you, Baby' ❤️
I washed the extra wide & extra long afghan I made for my bear of a man … and the 'whole thing fit in Independence's washing machine, without a snafu - very minimal shrinkage when dried (not even noticeable) 😊
