FURTHER EXPLORATIONS~Coalinga-CA

Today we drove up the road to grab a couple cases of bottled water, in Coalinga-CA …

… following that, we decided to explore another section of the town wow 😳: it is bigger than we first thought πŸ€”

We did drivebys that piques our interests πŸ“Έ:

Richfield Oil Service Station, Coalinga-CA:

Coalinga Plaza-CA

The Plaza is a pretty cool place, kinda like the Oregon's PSU section of that city. The Coalinga Plaza is extremely miniscule compared to that, but it does seem to be a place where foot traffic is preferred, businesses are close together & blocks are tight, a nicely planned community park is inside there … someday, maybe, I'll walk through the Plaza and explore it by foot.

We also explored the newer section of Coalinga - and was happy to find that there is a newer supermarket (similar to a Safeway or Albertson's type of store), where we can get our groceries without making the longer drive to Hanford-CA & back; we'll still be visiting that way, and stopping by Wal*Mart to get there, what we cannot get here (like DEF for Betsy & yarn for me πŸ˜‰).

And, we came home with a box of tasty donuts πŸ‘

There were a few more things we wanted to check out, but Holland's pain level was making itself felt, so we decided to check those things out another Day: we'll be here for awhile, and everything does not need to be explored immediately.

I steamed a big pot of vegetables for Supper - adding this purple tuber, which the mexican fella who sold it to me said was a sweet potato. It is, but I personally did not like it πŸ˜‘ - It felt, and sliced like a jicama tuber … and was starchy & mushy after cooking. I don't think I'll buy anymore after the last 2 are used up.

But, because I am a curious gypsy-footed woman, who likes ethic foods - I had to try it πŸ˜‰

Checking my newsfeed while supper steamed, I was not happy to see that Charlie Kirk is quickly becoming America's Golden Calfand his widow seems to be leading the conservative crowd's mania πŸ˜’

NO! This is wrong on so many levels.

That was [it] for me: I shut down my newsfeed.

I got busy with self-care … calming my spirit, and toning my body:

BAD IDEA BEING FLOATED~Shabbat Ending 2025; Coalinga-CA

THIS IS WRONG

While it is true that Charlie Kirk's political assassination was WRONG; he died unnecessarily - PURLY FOR POLITICAL REASONS; and no doubt he died a martyr's death, speaking-sharing-and declaring Christ Yeshua (Jesus)

He was A NORMAL MAN.

He was NOT a Holy Man (aka: prophet, saint).

He was NOT a special man (special ops military, government ambassador, state leadership, civil office, Church leadership); he WAS SIMPLY a campus speaker like Dave Wilkerson & Hal Lindsey were in their era.

WHY do people ALWAYS LOSE THIER MINDS when unthinkable things happen????

YES, Charlie's politically-fueled assassination is wrong.

But, laying him in the Nation's Capitol Rotunda IS ALSO WRONG - on so many levels; the primary level being that he does not deserve God-like treatment! Charlie spoke for a lot of Americans, that is true … but, his voice was not the "say-all" or the "be-all": and while he SHOULD be HONORED - THIS is NOT the WAY to DO that.

Communist countries idolize notable leaders, for God's sake people - stop with the idolizing!!

Why do people always lose their minds in troubled times?

ENTER YOUR REST~Shabbat Eve; Coalinga-CA

This afternoon we drove into Huron - to the Farmer's Market there; it's a nice little drive.

Along the way (coming and going), I saw & learned new things. I like learning new things - and my husband is very knowledgeable about my queries: he's worked a lot of jobs, and he patiently educates his personal curious george 😘

When we got back home, I stored the fresh produce in the 'fridge; and got busy with supper & dessert … I did dessert first, so It would be cooled and 'set' to be enjoyed after supper.

I also read my FB newsfeed - and got a PM from my friend Karen, that I shared with my husband. We both got a laugh out of it πŸ‘©‍❤️‍πŸ’‹‍πŸ‘¨

Then, I made a deep-dish pizza using a boxed Chef Boyardee mix; topped with pepperoni slices, and veggies I had on hand. It turned out tasting pretty good πŸ‘

Farmer's Market goodies; Scallions, G. Beans, Roma Tomatoes x 6, Oranges x 6, Wax Peppers x 4, & a Poblano Pepper. The Poblano Pepper is much milder than a jalapeΓ±o.

Boxed Pizza Mix; sauce spiced with fresh Basil & 1 pressed Garlic clove; sliced Pepperoni, 1/2 sliced Red Onion, 1 sliced sm. Zucchini, 3 Roma Tomatoes, 1 Wax Pepper & shredded Cheddar Cheese.

After Supper, I relaxed by listening to a Messianic music playlist for a while, before reading a couple chapters of a Clive Cussler novel - and focused on letting the cares of the world slip off my shoulders, and held at bay until Monday …

Finding a relaxing Playlist to  usher in a peaceful 24-hr Shabbat Rest.
