ATHEIST HAILS CHRISTIANITY AS HUMANITY'S DOORKEEPER

What if one of Christianity’s strongest defenders wasn’t a Christian?

Historian Tom Holland spent years immersed in the ancient Greek and Roman world expecting to admire it. Instead, he found something deeply unsettling. The ancient world was breathtaking in its achievements; but also astonishingly brutal. Infanticide was common. Slavery was taken for granted. The weak existed for the benefit of the strong. Human dignity, as we understand it today, simply wasn’t a universal value.

That realization led Holland to an unexpected conclusion: many of the moral assumptions we now consider “obvious” are anything but ancient. They are the product of Christianity’s profound influence on Western civilization: equality, compassion, human rights, care for the poor, and the value of every human life is the hallmark of Christianity.

Tom Holland is one of Britain’s best-known historians of the ancient world and the author of Dominion: How the Christian Revolution Remade the World. Although he has described himself as an agnostic, his historical research led him to conclude that Christianity transformed Western moral thought in ways many people no longer recognize.

Holland argues that ideas such as the inherent worth of every person, compassion for the weak, care for the poor, the dignity of women, opposition to infanticide, and the belief that power should serve rather than exploit are not self-evident truths inherited from Greece or Rome. They became deeply rooted in the West through the influence of Christianity.

That doesn’t mean Christians have always lived up to these ideals.

History records many failures.

But it does mean the ideals themselves became culturally influential because of the Christian worldview.

DON'T WAIT: IT'S LATER THAN YOU THINK~Self-Care; Castle Rock-WA

I did not write this and I’m not sure who did - it's worth the read; don’t wait to read it later!

Barely the day started and... it's already six in the evening.

Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday.

… and the month is already over.

… and the year is almost over.

Already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed &70 is dawning.

And we realize that we lost our parents, relatives, friends.

And we realize it's too late to go back...

So - let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time...

Let's keep looking for activities that we like.

Let's put some color in our grey.

Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.

And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy with serenity this time we have left. Let's try to eliminate the afters:

I'm doing it after...

I'll say after...

I'll think about it after...

We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours.

Because what we don't understand is that:

Afterwards, the coffee gets cold...

afterwards, priorities change...

Afterwards, the charm is broken...

Afterwards, health passes...

Afterwards, the kids grow up...

Afterwards parents get old...

Afterwards, promises are forgotten...

Afterwards, the day becomes the night...

Afterwards life ends...

And then it's often too late.

So, let's leave nothing for later.

Because still waiting "see you later" … we can lose the best moments,

the best experiences, best friends, the best family time.

The day is today.

The moment is now.

We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away.

So let's see if you have time to read this message and then share it.

Or maybe you'll leave it for ′′ later "...

And you'll never share it.
