While drinking my morning joy juice☕️ & scrolling the internet 💻🌐 … this FB Reel came through my Feed 🥩🥘, and it looked so good ; when we came back from Longview - the fixin's came with us 😉
I wrote down the recipe as she was talking and pulling it together; halved the ingredients for the 2 of us - and it really was delish! 👍

Steak, Cabbage & Rice Recipe ~serves 2
This recipe is so simple & easy to make - just a few main ingredients, a couple spices, and about 45 minutes of your time.
1 Lrg. Skillet * 1 Lrg. Saucepan w-lid * Cutting Board * Med. Kitchen Bowl * 1 Kitchen Knife * Measuring Cups & Spoons * Kitchen Tongs * Supper Plates & Silverware
DIY DALE'S SAUCE (1 cup): 1/2 TBSP ground ginger (I used grnd. allspice as a sub) * 1/2 tsp onion powder * 1/4 tsp garlic powder * 1/4 tsp paprika * 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar * 1/2 cup soy sauce * 1/2 cup water
Combine all ingredients & blend until fully combined. Place in a small glass jar & refrigerate - will keep for 2 months.
STEAKS: 2 ct. med-size Steaks * 2 TBS Butter, melted * 2 Garlic cloves, chopped * 1/2 TBS Dale's Sauce * Olive Oil
1) Marinade steaks in Dale's Sauce; set aside for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
2) Over medium heat, place skillet: coat bottom of skillet with Oil, add butter & garlic cloves - cook for a few minutes to release garlic flavor.
Add steaks & cook about 6 minutes each side (we cook our meats until there is no blood showing in the juices).
WHILE MEAT COOKS, begin the rice.
RICE: Measure 1 cup of uncooked #rice * a bit of Olive Oil (to keep rice from sticking together) * 1-1/2 cup of water
1) Bring water & oil to a gentle boil in a medium saucepan.
2) Stir in rice, & bring to a light boil - then reduce heat to low. Cover with a tight-fitting lid (I wrap a tied bandana around my lid to 'catch' the access water; this makes for a nicely cooked rice) and simmer for 15-20 minutes without lifting the lid.
I like #Basmati rice because it smells good, remains fluffy, and tastes good.
IN THE MEANTIME …
VEGGIES: 1/2 Red Cabbage, chopped * 2 Garlic cloves, chopped * 1/2 White Onion, chopped * Cayenne Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt & grnd. Black pepper - to taste
1) Remove steaks from skillet & keep warm.
2) Add cabbage mixture to skillet, sprinkle with spices & fry in drippings until desired texture (we like ours kinda soft).
3) Cut steak into bite-size pieces.
4) Place rice on supper plate: top with cabbage mixture & add meat bits. Sprinkle with ground Black pepper.
