Around 2:30 AM, I woke up in the grip of a full-on asthma attack - coughing & gasping for air. Holland, who was still awake, downstairs, rushed upstairs as fast as he could & pressed an inhaler in my hand, saying, "Use it! Then, come downstairs and drink a cup of coffee. You've got to stay alive." My poor husband! I get irritated with my faulty lungs that worry my husband.
So, I did: use the inhaler while he watched me like a hawk … and drank a mug of full-strength coffee while listening to the sound of rain, falling soft and gentle outside Independence's 4 walls - and scrolling through Blogger Friends Pages.
I went back to bed at 3:47 AM - we had a big day of packing & hauling scheduled: Holland suggested we set our alarms for 8 AM, instead of 6, since my coughing episode ate up precious time.
When I woke up at 8:35 - my face blotched with strain marks, Holland decided we'd stay home & rest today; since I had such a rough time of it early this morning (and I know he didn't sleep a wink, with so much on his mind); we'll rent a U-Haul truck tomorrow & load it with everything; except the last minute items we absolutely need until RV's are switched out.
We only left the house to take a 5 minute drive down Barnes Drive, to let Bleu run off-leash along a river road turn-out for about a half hour: we all got some fresh air & there was no one around to wonder what had happened to my face. Tomorrow, it should be a little clearer.
Holland banned me from the kitchen & cooked tonight's supper - the steak was the last meat package in the freezer, and he cooks a delicious steak. Tonight the regular fried onion rings were fancied up with sliced Bell peppers, garlic cloves, & green beans. SO TASTY!
For the rest of the night, I'm going to do nothing but quiet my body and thoughts.
I need to be well rested and alert tomorrow; so I can be helpful with the packing, shifting, and storing of our stuff.
