These colorful, textured hot pads, were worked to match the variegated EX-Lrg. Rectangular Hot Pad I made a couple months ago, while in CA for the Fall of 2015.
MOD ROUND ROSE-TRIMED LID KNOB HOT PAD
I like these lid knob pads because they are easier to use on pot lids, than the bigger & bulkier regular hot pads: just slip them over the lid knobs 😊
This round lid knob cover will fit both a raised knob, and a flatter knob.
You can work it up in a solid hue, a main color & contrast color mix, or a variegated blend to match your kitchen, or personality - they all look nice 😉
Materials:
Worsted; #I crochet hook, 1 rubber band, scissors & a Tapestry Needle.
Terms used:

Row 1: Ch 2 - then make 7 sc in circle - do not join: place a marker & work in rounds from this point.
Row 2: 2 sc in each st: 14 sc
Row 3: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 2 sts*: rpt around: 20 sc
Rows 4 thru 7: Sc even; 20 sc
Row 8: Double the rubber band & work a row of sc around the band - join with a sl st: 20 sc
Row 9: Ch 3 & work *2 dc in 1st st, 1 dc in next st* around; 30 d
Row 10: Work 2 dc in EA st, around; 60 dc
Row 11: Ch 1, & work 1 sc in EA st around. EO MC & attach CC 60 sc
Edge Trim: *Ch 3, skip 1 st, sl st in next st*; rpt around - join with a sl st in the last st. EO yarn & weave in loose ends.
Rose Embroidery: With color (or colors) of choice, make a French knot; surround the French knot with long sts, in a circular manner, until you are satisfied with the shape. EO
If desired, make leaves by bringing green yarn up near the rose base - make a loop of desired length & tack it in place at the tip. Repeat as many times as you think fits you rose placements. EO & weave in all loose ends.
MOD OBLONG ROSE-TRIMED LID KNOB HOT PAD
This pattern is an old pattern, which I have modified; the original pattern was designed to slip over casserole dish handles to move from oven to counter or table top: I altered the pattern a tad, to slip over my oblong-shaped slowcooker lid knobs 😁

MOD HOT PAD PATTERNS~4 sizes; 4 different designs
These textured med-, large-, & sm-sized hot pads are more rectangular, than square, in their finished shape. Sometimes a rectangular hot pad is needed - where a square would either be too big, or too small.
The extra large Rectangular Hot Pad is my own design that I worked up for the first time, the Fall of 2025 - while in Coalinga-CA.

MOD MED-SIZE TEXTURED HOT PAD
I worked up the medium-sized hot pad first, because that size seems to be used the most; the others were an after thought - alterations to the original pattern, but also occasionally used & needed for their sizing.
Materials:
Red Heart worsted weight yarn; # I crochet hook & scissors.
Terms used:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
sts = stitches
rpt - repeat
sl st = slip stitch
Round 1: Ch 36, turn and work 1 sc in EA st down length (36); turn, sc down opposite side (71 sc total). Place a marker and begin to work in rounds at this point, moving marker up each row.
Row 2: Make *1 sc in back loop, then 1 sc through both loops in next st* - follow this pattern around (71)
Row 3: Make *1 sc through both loops, 1 sc in back loop in next st* - follow this pattern around (71)
Rows 4 thru 22: Alternate rows 2 & 3 for established textured pattern.
Fold ends towards center; and continue in pattern to corner point - then work as follows, keeping to textured pattern sts: 1 sl st in next st, ch 11, 1 sl st in same st - for hanging loop; then, cut yarn with a long tail for sewing & whip st back of hot pad closed. EO & weave in all ends.
