OCTOBER MEMORIES; Quartzsite-AZ

Tuesday; October 22nd: This afternoon we revisited a place we had explored earlier this year. There is a mine behind the cabin, somewhere, and we're hoping to catch a view of it ;-)

On the drive there, a semi driver gave both our hearts a workout when he jetted out in front of us and fish-tailed his back end in front of Betsy's nose before finally getting back over in his lane - I don't know where he was going in such a hell-fire-hurry, but he could have killed us: Holland was laying on the horn, and I was praying for devine protection.

An encouraging note as we were pulling out of the Pit Stop ;-)
This crazy driver jetted across 2 lanes, right out in front of us!

October happens to be the month that Elohim was moving mightily in our lives 2 years ago, so, we also revisited those memories - memories that led to us being here, together.

It's good for couples to recall that first "aaha!" moment … and affirm that strong bond; memories can keep a relationship fresh.

I don't know what memories Holland recalls of our friendship as it deepened (because he's a private person - even with me), but I have several memories. Holland was a good friend to me; and his friendship helped my heart heal.

We had both been solo lobo's for several years; we both were being cautious with our hearts.

I was the most cautious - and I am glad Elohim opened my eyes, my heart, and my senses to new possibilities.

October will always dawn a special month, to me.

Waiting - and thinking you missed 'the one'; when you know the one who is for you (I saw Bob, and knew … but didn't meet and marry him until 7 years had passed - I thought we'd missed each other and would never find each other; Holland was given a vision of me … but didn't meet meet and marry me, until 3 decades later - he thought he'd missed me somewhere along the line, and had given up ever running across me): but in each Life Story, Elohim had other Plans, and made sure we all met at the right times, to bring His Plans about ;-)
When Elohim reveals, He is specific ;-)

During the darkest and hardest days of my life, Holland had gallantly sprung into action; offering to help me go to the cemetery and help, if that's what needed to be done. He has always been kind, and generous, patiently waiting for my heart to catch up with his.

We finally reached the cabin … and it is still a beautiful sight to see.

It hasn't been vandalized.

It's still impressive.

Back up to Joseph Cone's stone cabin; Quartzsite-AZ

We had first explored this place last year, in January:

Heart-shaped rock; they always appear to affirm the message of love.
We explored a bit further behind the cabin.
I'm glad Elohim paired me with Holland ;-)
This windy knoll is where we turned around.
We didn't get very far - Betsy sits low to the ground; maybe next time ;-)
Holland says these are fire ants.

On our way home we were still wondering if the Stone Cabin in the Castle Dome Mines Ghost Town (which we visited the other day) is the one he's wanting to find and see, relocated; he thinks not … so, as we passed through downtown Quartzsite, I suggested we visit the book store there, and see what information they can offer (bookstores will usually have information not found elsewhere); so, that's what we did.

The woman that runs the book store was very talkative, and very informative: I walked out with a book she helped write. It should be helpful in helping us as we scout around the general area, here;-)

I also - by an unexpected fluke - came across a fairly recent YouTube video that shows the stone cabin in a location we had passed by, many times on our trips between Quartzsite and Yuma.

I happened to find this on YouTube; maybe we can find it in real time ;-)

The cabin ruins are still there.

So, the stone cabin on Hwy. #95, is still a Bucket List item for Holland.
