June 26th: Today was Grocery Shopping Day - we chose Warrenton-OR over Longview-WA; it shaves an hour driving time off the necessity.
Warrenton-OR from Ocean Park-WA; 46 min (32.0 mi) via Sandridge Rd and US-101 S
Heavy ocean mist lay over every area of the Long Beach Peninsula-WA, as we left for Oregon.
We listened to Blackfoot all the way from Chinook-WA, to Warrenton-OR: and I said to Holland, "there was a time in the 1970's that all I listened to was Native Bands - Blackfoot, XIT, Redbone, Buffy Saint Marie … who I just found out is not Native at all, but Italian - so I culled her last year sometime when that bit if news hit the airwaves. Do you know who XIT and Redbone are?" Since he is half-Native himself (I'm at least 1/4 Blackfoot), I thought he might know; but he didn't. He only knows Blackfoot - and didn't know until today that they were Native, until I spilled the beans. I don't know a whole lot about a lot of stuff … but I do know the background info of bands I like 😉
Redbone is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1969: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redbone_(band)
Blackfoot is an American Southern rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1970: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackfoot_(band)
XIT (Crossing of Indian Tribes) is a Native American rock band that released two albums in the 1970s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XIT_(band)

We thinking this building going up will be a Hotel to house Cruise Ship travelers; ships too tall to safely clear the Astoria-Megler Bridge's high point.

Holland has been hearing through various sources 💻 that there may be a government blackout-restart sometime soon, so he wanted to make sure we had food, water, fuel, and medical stuff. Groceries grabbed and tucked into 2 carts, we trolled the isles in the Pharmacy Dept., and Holland asked, "Do we have any Mercurochrome?" I burst out laughing because I was surprised he even knew what that stuff was; then I said, "I haven't seen that stuff on the market in decades - but I'll see if they have anything similar." And they did 😉
I haven't heard anything about a government snafu coming from any of the sites 💻 I frequent … but, if there is, we are properly stocked and ready: we paid a King's Ransom 😳 for "the necessities" today 🙏 🤞
Leaving Warrenton, heading towards Home, I caught sight of 1 lone White Pelican in Young's Bay.
The ocean mist never did abate. The Day was wet from start to finish: it has been a real bummer weather-wise for 10 months straight 😟 (AZ-CA-OR & WA); upheavals world-wide 🌎 are adding to the whacky weather 😒

When we got back home, & everything was unloaded & stashed all over Independence … we both kicked back and relaxed.
And I was happy to see a recipe that my mother used to make 😁 … and I lost with all the box shifting 😔 from Storage to Storage; at the start of our Road Gypsy adventure:
So, I tucked that recipe away for future reference - found a music playlist I liked; and picked up my WIP. Holland asked me how long before it would be finished … and I said, hopefully by the end of the month; but more likely somewhere around the first week of July.
