MOD FREEDOM 250 PATRIOTIC BUNTING PLANT POT COVER; Castle Rock-WA

MOD Patriotic Bunting Plant Pot Cover

Just 2 more plant pots to cover - and I'm doing 1, today.

My design today, was crafted to fit a 15-oz. Butter Tub:

15-oz. Butter Tub for plant pot.

Materials: Worsted yarn in Chamois, Red, White & Blue; size #G hook; scissors; tapestry needle; Sewing Needle; White Sewing Thread; Plastic grocery bag (for lining); 8 ct. little white resin Star Buttons;  

Terms Used:

ch = chain

dc = double crochet

sc = single crochet

st = stitch

sl st = slip stitch

EA = each

x = times (repeat)

jn = join

rpt = repeat

EO = end off

Bottom: With Chamois, ch 9 - dc in 3rd ch from hook, make 2 dc in same sp; dc in next 5 ch, 3 dc in end ch, dc in next 6 ch; jn with a sl st.

Row 2: Ch 3; make make 2 dc in same sp, dc in next st, 3 dc next st, dc x 7, 3 dc next st, 1 dc next st, 3 dc next st, dc x 8; jn with a sl st.

Row 3: Ch 3, make 2 dc in same st, hdc x4, 3 dc next st, hdc x 9, 3 dc next st, hdc x4, 3 dc next st, hdc x 9; jn with a sl st.

Side Pattern: Ch 3 - Wrap yarn around hook, place hook around backside of ch 3 & draw yarn up, wrap yarn around hook & working in next st draw a long loop up, draw another long loop up in same sp  & draw yarn through 4 loops, then again through last 3 loops.

Wrap yarn around hook & working in next st draw a long loop up.
Draw another long loop up in same sp  & draw yarn through 4 loops.
Then draw yarn through last 3 loops.

Work this pattern in the same sp, pattern x6 across the row & 2 patterns in end st (inc), pattern x11, 2 patterns in end st, pattern x6, 2 patterns in end st, pattern x11, & 1 pattern in beginning pattern sp - for an inc in that st.

Inc in corner st.

Row 3: Ch 3 - Wrap yarn around hook, place hook around backside of ch 3 & draw yarn up, wrap yarn around hook & working in next st draw a long loop up, draw another long loop up in same sp & draw yarn through 4 loops, then again through last 3 loops - repeat this pattern in the same sp; work 1 pattern x8, 2 patterns in end st (inc), pattern x12, 2 patterns in end st, pattern x8, 2 patterns in end st, pattern x12, & 1 pattern in beginning pattern sp - for an inc in that st.

Row 4: Ch 1 & sc around (48 sc); jn with a sl st.

Row 5: Ch 3 - Wrap yarn around hook, place hook around backside of ch 3 & draw yarn up, wrap yarn around hook & working in next st draw a long loop up, draw another long loop up in same sp & draw yarn through 4 loops, then again through last 3 loops - repeat this pattern in the same sp; work 1 pattern x10, 2 patterns in end st (inc), pattern x13, 2 patterns in end st, pattern x10, 2 patterns in end st, pattern x13, & 1 pattern in beginning pattern sp - for an inc in that st.

Row 6: Ch 1 & sc around (52 sc); jn with a sl st. EO  Chamois; attach Gray.

Row 7: With Gray, ch 1 & work 1 row sc around top sts (52 sc); join with a sl st, & Turn.

Row 8 & 9: Repeat row 7.

Row 10: Work a row of sl at across top sts (52). EO

Bunting Trim:

Internet Bunting design, I crafted my trim around.

Row 1: With Red, ch 2 & work 6 dc in 2nd ch from hook (7 dc). EO

Row 2: Attach White at right-side right edge; ch 3, & work as follows - 2 dc in first st - *2 dc in back loop of next st, 2 dc in next st*; rpt * thru * across row for a ripple-like effect (14 dc). EO

Row 3: Attach Blue at right-side right edge; ch 3, & work as follows - 1 dc in first st - 2 dc in back loop of next st, *2 dc in next st, 2 dc in back loop of next st*; rpt * thru * across row for a ripple-like effect - ending with 1 dc in last st (28 dc). EO

Row 4: Attach White at right-side right edge; ch 1, & *1 sc in back loop of next st, 2 sc in next st*; rpt * thru * across row for a ripple-like effect - ending with 1 sc in last st (42 sc). EO

Row 5: Attach Red at right-side right edge; ch 1, & alternate 1 sc in back loop, 1 sc in front loop across row (42 sc). EO

Finishing:  Weave in all loose ends. Sew button in place, evenly spaced; & tack bunting to front of pot cover, as shown.

Cut plastic bag open and trim to fit pot cover - with enough overhang to fold under and tack loosely into place along the gray edging, inside of pot cover.

Slip your plant inside the cover and enjoy your patriotic vibe 👍
