These songs are old - some older than me, some my age, and some shortly following.
I grew up with music: I'm a musiholic, myself.
When I was a child (newborn to 9 years old), my mother always had 1 room in the house filled with 45's … from floor to ceiling & footpaths in between the stacks. No joke. I loved that room.
My mother liked to dance.
My mother loved the holidays.
Our house was always bouncing with rockabilly tunes.
When my bio-father moved us to WA State, the records room disappeared. BUT, we always had music in the house (my mother by then, had a little plastic turquoise colored radio sitting atop the 'fridge - and it was always ON; and by them her taste in music has morphed from rockabilly to the rock and roll genre of the mid-1960's and into the 1970's.
But I always remembered the stacks of 45's; the Friday night dance parties (sometimes just her and us 5 kids - sometimes neighbors, if we had any within a reasonable driving radius); and the rockabilly tunes … especially around the holidays.
