BREAKING EVEN; Coalinga-CA

We are having a Thanksgiving casserole tomorrow for the holiday - but this afternoon, we decided to try the "New China" chinese restaurant, in Coalinga, for a special treat 😘 to kick off the holiday season.

While drinking my morning coffee ☕️, I noticed that my Minerva is really pumping out the blossoms; when all is done, the spendy flowering bulb will have paid for itself with the breaking even steady bloom 🌸😊

The bonus Minerva Amaryllis blossoms, do not last as long as the 1st burst of color. The subsequent blossoms fade & wither away, in 2 day's time.

I removed the spent blossom & snipped out the throat stamens, to stave off allergies.

It looks like a future plant is thrusting up from the bulb base … time will tell.

I also had time to spend time toning up 💪 before Holland was fully woke and alert: working muscles while streamlining my weight is a smart way to break even while staying healthy. Skin loses it's elasticity with each passing year 🤔 - I do not want to be thinner with hanging skin that resembles marsh moss on mature bayou trees due to poor muscle tone.

YUK!

I'm doing intermediate fasting with the toning exercises; eating smaller portions of normal Homestyle meals & an occasional out0of-home meal. Crash diets 🙄 and lose skin 😒 is not for me:

On our way to collect supper, I scratched my scratch cards; and broke even. I'm okay with that - it's a fun anticipation, and at least the $ spent to purchase them was recouped 😉

I broke even - it takes so little to make me happy 😂🤣

Holland turned the scratch cards in, in town … and came back to Betsy with more cheap thrills for me 👌 I don't need to have a lot of money spent on me to be happy 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨

Back home, we ate our special treat supper; it was okay, but I think it had preservatives in it that caused me a bit of stomach trouble - Holland didn't suffer an ill effects, so I told him he can finish the rest of it all off by himself, later on tonight 🤝

Chinese supper was okay; I don't think we'll go back though.

It was good,  just have a very fickle digestive system 😟 and have to be careful with what I eat. I love chinese food, and most of the time it loves me back: but, there are times like tonight 🤦🏻‍♀️, where the love is not reciprocated 😔

Before getting back to work on my WIP, I scratched off my new scratch card - and will get a free card instead of cash, next time. That's okay, too; I'm just having fun. If I manage to win big, I'll whoop with excitement … if not, breaking even is not a disappointing loss 👍

Again, I just broke even …

LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE; Long Beach Peninsula-WA

It rained from 4 AM (I know this because I was still up at 4 ;-)), until I got up around noon (lovin' the freedoms of retired life!); the gray clouds started lifting somewhere around 1'noon - but the temperatures today will remain in the mid-50's until sunset.

We are really ready for the sunshine we're headed for, in a few days.

I'm not sure if we'll be coming back to WA State once we leave it for Yuma-AZ … but if we do, this RV Park is a nice little place to set down; but the owner yesterday said they have it up for sale since this past Spring, and there may be a new owner next year - which will mean, new parking fees :-(

We were supposed to go into Longview this morning, but we both stayed up all night long last night, because we are so amped with excitement about our trip South - so, instead of driving into Longview, we got up late and got out of the house late: taking a leisurely loop drive into Ilwaco and back ... and dropping in at David's, to give him the two books I forgot to give him last evening; we ended up spending two hours shooting the breeze, then we all decided to go out for Supper - so, we drove to Chen's Chinese Restaurant in Long Beach, and had an enjoyable time of table convo, hijinks laughter, and boomeranging love bouncing back and forth between us. I'm so lucky to have the love of these two fellas, lighting up my life and warming my heart :-)

We've shared some of the thoughts we've been kicking around, with David … and he's given us some good points to think on, also. It was a good two hours, spent among friends.

I ordered the 'Screaming Orgasm' (it sounded interesting, and I was curious); which had everyone laughing, including the head waitress.

I am sure the movie clip of 'When Harry Met Sally' was running through everyone's thoughts, at that point ;-)

The 'Screaming Orgasm' looks like a White Russian; I asked what was in screaming orgasm, and asked that white rum be substituted for the vodka; amaretto, & kahlúa are also in the drink; it was a very strong drink -  David said he could understand why it was labeled as 'screaming'.

I am liking that Holland and David are friends - It's important to me that they get along, because they are both important people to me. I like that they speak the same language, because Holland needs that - he can only engage with girl talk with me for so long, before mentally he's left the room and is ready to change the topic to guns, cars, and macho man BS … David and Holland understand each other. They connect on "important" topics ;-)

And I'm okay with sitting the man talk out, and letting my thoughts go introspective.
