Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) responded to Tom Homan's warning on Sunday that obstructing immigration enforcement would lead to an arrest of "anybody," telling the border czar to come arrest him.

"Come after me. Arrest me. Let's just get it over with, tough guy. I don't give a damn," Newsom told NBC News on Sunday night.

The California governor defended the illegal immigrant population of Los Angeles, which was targeted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in a wave of raids late last week, spurring the violent protests across the city.

Newsom said Homan needs to leave alone the "poor people just trying to live their lives," and insisted that the state needs to "push back" against the Trump administration, which has sought to control the law enforcement response to the protests.

"These guys need to grow up. They need to stop, and we need to push back," the California governor said. "And I'm sorry to be so clear, but that kind of bloviating is exhausting. So, Tom, arrest me. Let's go."

Newsom has been critical of the Trump administration's move to deploy the National Guard to the area, which he sees as unnecessary given the state's resources. On Sunday, he claimed President Donald Trump has "manufactured a crisis and is inflaming conditions" as the protests continue into the night.

Earlier on Sunday, he requested that the administration revoke its deployment order, deeming it "unlawful."

WORLD OCEAN DAY 2025~Bay Center-WA

I woke up with a stuffy nose and a headache, and thought, "I need some fresh air" - but I'm tired of just driving 5 minutes down the road to watch waves": I wanted new scenery to see.

Then I recalled a snippet of convo we discussed with David, when he was here, yesterday.

And today is also World Ocean Day 2025: The theme for World Oceans Day 2025 is "Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us". This theme highlights the ocean's ability to inspire wonder and awe, encouraging curiosity, scientific knowledge, exploration, and innovation. It also emphasizes the ocean's vital role in sustaining us, both materially (food, energy, trade) and emotionally.

I decided to drive to Bay Center-WA 😊

It's a nice drive too, to get there 👌

Today, would be a nice Sunday Drive Day; the day is beautiful - nice & warm, sunny 🌞, clear blue skies without a cloud seen anywhere. A perfect day to be out and about.

There isn't a whole lot to see in Bay Center - this daytrip would basically be just a trip down memory lane, spurred on by a mention during yesterday's visitation convo; I suspected that Holland had never been there, so I asked him if he'd like to tag along … and he did 🕊️

The nautical themed windows caught my eye, on this house as we drove past it.

I spent many happy days in Bay Center when I was a teen; my stepfather John Emerson had also spent a great deal of time there - his mother Dicie had been raised there, and that's probably where she met John's father, Ralph. Ralph was Skagit Indian, and was a net fisherman all his life. When John and my mother were still married, we would annually drive to Bay Center from Cathlamet to visit his Grandma Peggy; I loved Grandma Peggy, and her little cottage house to the right, as we passed over the little bridge in the community.

Bay Center-WA is a fishing community, and I noticed when I was there a couple years ago (less than 5), that there is now an Indian Tribal Office down by the circular turn around. Internet research surfing informed me that Bay Center is not a designated Indian reservation. While the Chinook Indian Nation is headquartered in Bay Center and has tribal members living there, they are an unrecognized tribe and do not have a formally recognized reservation. But I do know that The Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe in Tokeland-WA, is a federally recognized tribe with a reservation located along Willapa Bay near Raymond-WA.

There are 7 global bodies of water called oceans - I've spent the majority of my life to date, along the northern part of the Pacific Ocean; currently living in Ocean Park-WA, which is basically the tip of the North Pacific Peninsula. In September of this year, we will be setting pegs in Brookings-OR, the lower end of the North Pacific Ocean.

We honeymooned & lived portions of 2023, 2024, & 2025 along the Southwestern Pacific Ocean: my husband Holland, was born in Santa Cruz-CA - and surfed the waves of the coastal Southwestern Pacific Ocean there, in his younger years. It is a beautiful place, and I'm glad we visited there last year.

Though CA is geographically in the southwestern part of the country, is not considered part of the "down South" region of America.

The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean in the world. It reaches from the West Coast of the United States to Asia and Australia. The USA states of Alaska (the largest American State, with Texas following after), Washington, Oregon, California, and Hawaii border the Pacific Ocean.

When we got back home, my eyes were so itchy and I was sneezing so hard, I gulped some Dayquil down my sore throat and went upstairs to lay down for about half an hour: Holland woke me up 3 hours later (!), and we ate a quickie Supper - last night's chicken & biscuits leftover for him & a chicken Cup-O-Soup for me. Then, he made a couple fruit smoothies … and I grated the lemon peel for my spice collection (I like to use the peel in a couple recipes).

 Today was a good Sunday~Funday Day.

I briefly touched down on my FB Page this afternoon … and thought I'd been hacked through a Friend link: But, that wasn't the case, thank the Lord. I was just getting ready to send my Friend a message that perhaps she'd been hacked, but ended up laughing, instead 😂🤣

God thing, earth angel friendships, are spiritually uplifting, and a special family cohesiveness 😘

Following that humorous interaction, I was at the other end of Independence, when my phone alerted me of an incoming call - by the time I reached my phone, a familiar truck was pulling up in front of our front door 😉

This afternoon was busy with warm & friendly vibes 😊

David stopped by for a good, lengthy visit. David is my oldest friend - we've been friends since 1965, and I like that he and Holland interact well.

Longtime friendships are heart warmingly special 😘

Holland & I are cautiously paying attention to what is going on with President Trump, and his administration - what started good 👏 is quickly going off the rails 😳, and we are both thinking 🤔 we should distance our support from Trump and his agenda 😕

The 'Office of Faith' in the White House will lead to national disaster: it is opening a door to propel obama's agenda forward! paula white is a tool in Lucifer's gang box - she embraces every religion, and is - in MHO - empty-headed and under-handed 👺That office in the White House is the devil's playground 😈👹; and will a doorway for wickedness to be played out on the national & global landscape.

Remember King Solomon! 📖 He was the wisest and prudent man on Earth; but he married many foreign women, and to placate them he started joining them in their pagan 👹 religious observances (catering to demonic influences) "to keep the peace". His reign did not end well.

Holland had cooked a whole chicken the other day in the Insta Pot - basically for broth; so, tonight I used the leftover meat in this simple casserole meal I pulled together, using ingredients on hand 😊

It was a hit  👏 … and a definite repeat 👍

Val's Open-Face Chicken Pie w-Biscuit Topping

VAL'S OPEN-FACE CHICKEN PIE WITH BISCUIT TOPPING – 6 servings

##NOTE: This recipe will move along smoothly if you prepare the ingredients before you start cooking the sauce.

Leave biscuits in the 'fridge until you need to place them on the chicken-veg blend.

Canned Biscuits * 2 TBSP Butter or margarine * 2 TBSP Flour * 1/2 tsp. Salt Substitute * 1/2 tsp. Garlic Salt * 1/8 tsp. ground Szechuan Pepper * 1/8 tsp. grnd. Black Pepper * 1/8 tsp. Thyme leaves * 1 c Chicken Broth * 1/2 c Water * 2 TBSP Powdered Milk * 1/2 c Cheddar Cheese, grated * 2 c cooked, cubed Chicken meat * 1 c Peas * 1 c Carrots, diced * 1 Onion, diced * 1 large Potato, diced * 1/2 c Celery, sliced * 1 c mushrooms, sliced * Medium Soup Pot * Lrg. Pyrex Casserole Dish, oblong * Cooking Spray

Biscuits - I prefer my homemade biscuits, but my husband likes these canned ones; so, that's what I used; spices, flour, & butter.

Something new & interesting in the store - so, it came home with us, & we will sample it tonight.

1) Heat oven to 425-degrees.

2) In soup pot, blend the chicken broth, water, powdered milk, flour, seasonings, & butter; cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly.

Sauce …

3) Remove from heat. Stir in cheese – blend well: gently, but thoroughly, stir in the chicken meat and vegetables.

Sliced carrot 'coins'.

Veggies & cubed chicken meat.

Spaghetti string grated Cheddar cheese; it melts easier this way.

4) Spray bottom of casserole dish with cooking spray, & pour mixture into the pie pan; spreading evenly for even baking.

5) Bake 35 minutes - then remove from oven and place biscuits evenly spaced across filling: return to oven and lower oven temperature to 350-degrees (or whatever the biscuit directions instruct on package), and bake another 10 minutes more, or until nicely browned.

6) Remove from oven & serve. YUM!
