Throughout 2025, I'm going to be posting notes of encouragement at the start of every week: there are 52 weeks in the year. Today, I am posting this bit of encouragement because it fits our life in the moment. There are changes coming down the pike for us, and we are happily going with the flow. Those of you who read our Blog, know we are in a period of transition - and that can be a good thing. It is also a bit complex. But we know we'll end up where Elohim wants us to be.
Holland feels very strongly that we will be pretty much in the PNW in the unfurling months. But, for the moment, we are in AZ.
Holland drove into Yuma early this morning to return an item, and came back home with a loaf of garlic bread, and a package of thick cut bacon … and I instantly thought to make potato soup with some of the bacon 😉
The weather here is cloudy and nippy, with a rain forecast in it at some point: a cozy comfort food would be most welcome: Holland's thoughts were flowing in the same direction 👩❤️💋👨
So, I got it under way in the soup pot, while doing laundry upstairs 😁
Normally, I would use regular potatoes … but living in an RV - even an RV as large as ours, doesn't lend a lot of space; anywhere. Pantry and cooking space has been drastically curtailed. In the beginning of our Road Gypsy roundtripping, Holland bought 2 large tubs of 4Patriots Food Supplies - and I'm still working my way through them. Today, we are going to be sampling the Potato Soup, for the first time 🙏
June 2023~The dehydrated food packages seemed the wisest choice, for long-term food storage in an RV.
As I've mentioned in previous posts where I've used the 4Patriots Food packages - they are very basic and very simple: I prefer to add ooph to them when I use them; and my husband is enjoying the extra additions, too 👍
He spoils me with a life of travel I have always dreamed about 🥰 … and I, in turn, spoil him with tasty food dishes 😘
This basic 4Patriots supper soup was packaged as usual with a chicken bullion base - to that was added a dry cream-based thickener, and diced dried potato pieces: with the extra additions I added, it made up very nicely 👏
I also baked the garlic bread to serve with the soup.
Large Soup Pot * 10 ct. thick cut Bacon strips, sliced in pieces * 1 Red Onion, sliced * 3 stalks Celery (& some center celery leaves), sliced * 2 large Carrots, sliced into coins * 3large cloves Garlic, minced * Salt & Black Pepper, to taste * 1/8 tsp. grnd. Cayenne pepper * 1 pkt. 4PATRIOTS FOOD 'Cozy Potato Soup' * 8 c. Water (pkt. says 10 c; but we like our soup to resemble a chowder 😉)
1) Slice the bacon, and place in soup pot - cook slowly while you prep vegetable.
Sauté bacon pieces, on medium heat.
2) Slice onion & add to bacon; while these ingredients are slowly cooking, prepare carrot & celery - adding to soup pot as each is sliced into pieces: when celery is added last, turn heat down to a simmer and cook about half an hour.
My addition of 'extra' ingredients.
Carrot coins …
Sliced celery w-leaves.
Slow simmer bacon & veg medley until carrots are bite-tender.
3) When veggies are soft (not mushy, but tender), sprinkle with soup packet & slowly add water … blending thoroughly to dissolve powder lumps.
##Preheat oven according to Garlic Bread package instructions.
Turn back to soup mixture & turn heat up to medium; cook about 20 minutes - stirring frequently to avoid scorching. Soup thickens to a chowder-like thickness as it cooks (if you prefer a thinner soup, add another 2 cups boiling water to the mixture - cold water will significantly slow the cooking time down).
Blend all ingredients, and cook on med-high heat.
While soup is cooking, slip bread into oven; if bread gets done before soup is ready, turn oven off & leave bread inside to stay warm.
YUMMY!
I like this time in our Life.

3) I stand with President Trump a because he stands with America & Americans - what his standing with Elohim is, in MPO, up for grabs given this particular appointment. And it just further proves my point that one cannot be a fully committed Christian and be in politics: it's like mixing oil & water - it may look appealing, but it is useless. It's not workable. Trump is a businessman, which is good for America. Trump is a hard-nosed politician, which is also good for America at this point in time. It is questionable as to whether or not, he is a bonafide Christian; I do not believe he is a wicked religious hypocrite like obama - but he may be more on the levels of shifting {christianity} exampled by the clinton's, bush's, and biden's than it appears in the moment. Time will tell.
But, whatever the case may be … Trump is Elohim's Man for the Hour. There is no doubt, about that.
4) It is true that we are not to judge people … BUT, Scripture tells us to judge the spirit to see if it lines up with what is being claimed: in this case, this Trump choice is not a wise one, and it will seriously undermine a studiously laid election promise to "make America, great again'. One cannot gain Elohim's favor, or National Blessing, by deliberately going against one of Elohim's direct commands concerning sexual perversion - just sayin'; if one wants the blessing, they have to walk the talk. Full stop.

(Reuters) - The U.S. Senate on Monday confirmed scott bessent to be President Donald Trump's Treasury secretary, giving the billionaire hedge fund manager a central role in shaping the new administration's policy ambitions around tax cuts and spending and managing economic relationships with allies and adversaries alike.
As the 79th Treasury secretary, bessent will have sway over the nation's tax collections and its $28 trillion Treasury debt market, with vast influence over fiscal policy, financial regulations, international sanctions and investments from overseas.
The vote was 68-29, with 16 Democrats supporting the nomination.
bessent, 62, is already shaping up to be a forceful advocate for Trump's economic agenda, which centers on reducing taxes and imposing steep tariffs that Democrats, and some economists, argue could undo some of the progress the Federal Reserve has made in getting inflation under control.
In his confirmation hearing, bessent warned that failure to renew $4 trillion in tax cuts expiring at the end of this year would be a "calamity" for middle-class Americans, and made the case that tariffs would help combat unfair trade practices, increase revenues, and bolster U.S. leverage in international negotiations.
He also pushed back against the idea that Trump's policies would be inflationary, and said that the administration's efforts to increase oil production would actually help bring down prices.
As Trump's top economic official, bessent will face a range of challenges, the most immediate of which will be managing federal cash flows after the government hit its statutory debt limit on Trump's second day in office. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's administration on Monday fired more than a dozen Justice Department lawyers who brought two criminal cases against him, an official said, as the Republican moves swiftly to exert greater control over the department 👏
The officials were fired after Acting Attorney General James McHenry, a Trump appointee, concluded they "could not be trusted to faithfully implement the President’s agenda because of their significant role in prosecuting 🤥 the President," a Justice Department official said.
McHenry cited Trump's power as chief executive under the U.S. Constitution to justify the firings, according to a copy of the termination letter seen by Reuters.
The lawyers worked with Special Counsel jack smith, who led 😤 the two federal prosecutions of Trump that the department dropped after his November election. smith resigned from the department earlier this month.
News of the firings came the same day that Ed Martin, the top federal prosecutor in Washington and a Trump appointee, opened an internal review into the use of a felony obstruction charge in prosecutions of people accused of taking part in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The U.S. Supreme Court raised the legal bar for that offense in a 6-3 ruling last year, prompting prosecutors to drop the charge in several cases.

Vice President JD Vance fired back at the US Conference of Catholic Bishops over its denunciation of the Trump administration rule change allowing ICE raids in churches and schools.

Last week, the religious group slammed the move for “turning places of care, healing, and solace into places of fear and uncertainty for those in need” and warned that it endangers “the trust between pastors” and “the people they serve.”
“As a practicing Catholic, I was actually heartbroken by that statement,” Vance, 40, told CBS News’ “Face the Nation” in an interview that aired Sunday.
“I think that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops needs to actually look in the mirror a little bit and recognize that when they receive over $100 million to help resettle illegal immigrants. Are they worried about humanitarian concerns? Or are they actually worried about their bottom line?” he asked.
“If they’re worried about the humanitarian costs of immigration enforcement, let them talk about the children who have been sex trafficked because of the wide open border of Joe Biden,” he added of the Catholic group.
Moderator Margaret Brennan pressed Vance about whether the US Conference of Catholic Bishops is “actively hiding criminals from law enforcement,” but the vice president was evasive.
“I think the US Conference of Catholic Bishops has, frankly, not been a good partner in common sense immigration enforcement that the American people voted for, and I hope, again, as a devout Catholic, that they’ll do better,” he explained.
Brennan also pressed Vance about whether the hardline immigration policy would have a chilling effect that could make parents reluctant to send their children to school.
“I desperately hope it has a chilling effect,” he shot back, “on illegal immigrants coming into our country.”
Vance had been baptized a Catholic in 2019 after having been an evangelical protestant. Tech billionaire Pete Thiel was reportedly influential in Vance’s decision to convert.
President Trump, who had grown up Presbyterian and now considers himself to be a nondenominational Christian, has previously clashed with leadership in the Catholic Church, including Pope Francis.
Francis recently blasted Trump’s mass deportation plans as a “disgrace.” First lady Melania Trump is a Catholic.
Last week, Trump and Vance were lectured at the inaugural prayer service by Right rev. mariann edgar budde, the Episcopal bishop of Washington, DC. budde begged the president to have “mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now,” including transgender people.
Vance, in his CBS interview, also asserted that the administration has “empowered law enforcement to enforce the law everywhere, to protect Americans.”
“This is a very unique country, and it was founded by some immigrants and some settlers. But just because we were founded by immigrants, doesn’t mean that 240 years later that we have to have the dumbest immigration policy in the world,” he stressed.
The vice president also defended Trump’s move to suspend the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, with a few carveouts, while his administration studies the issue.
The Vice President also argued that vetting of refugees has been insufficient.
Brennan argued that refugees are “heavily vetted” and often take 18 to 24 months to get through.
“I don’t agree that all these immigrants, or all these refugees, have been properly vetted. In fact, we know that there are cases of people who allegedly were properly vetted and then were literally planning terrorist attacks in our country,” Vance countered.
“We absolutely cannot unleash thousands of unvetted people into our country,” he added. “I don’t want my children to share a neighborhood with people who are not properly vetted.”
Vance’s wide-ranging interview with “Face the Nation” marks his first major televised sit-down interview since being sworn in as vice president.
