BOOTY BUSTER EXERCISES~My Senior Exercise Plan; #13/Long Beach-WA

I'm feeling kinda punk this morning - the rain barely lets up, and running in and out between home and truck, has led to a cold with a migraine headache.

BUT …

I stuck to my exercise regime: {{get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity a week. Or get at least 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week. You also can get an equal combination of moderate and vigorous activity. Aim to exercise most days of the week.}}

150 minutes a week averages out to about half an hour a day.

Lower Body Workout, today …
Workout {tools} …
My 'resting' oxygen & heart rates … it comforts Holland that I use this thing, due to my arrhythmia and asthma.

35 minutes of exercise today = equal combo.

My aging body is feeling the strain of dragging my generous booty around; it's time to get back onto the action of getting it under control again ;-)

My morning attire ;-)

Of course I am 67 y.o. - my booty will never look as cheeky as it used to; but I'm still in relatively good condition, and my backside is feeling the effects of my  new husband's delicious meals:

Holland shows his heart by cooking; he prefers to cook calorie-laden foods … and I like to eat what he so lovingly prepares.

So, today, my focus was on the toning below the waist - and I set my temp by backbeat music that fit the action :-)

Slightly elevated; but in the 'doing good' zone ;-)
Weighted down to keep it from bunny-hopping ahead; pedaling feels like a 10-speed changing gears.
After 20 minutes of pedaling, I was a little winded, but oxygen & heart rates barely moved.

Then, I went back to bed, feeling accomplished, comfortably sore, & praying to feel better tomorrow.

DESTRUCTION

In a recent segment on MSNBC, Heidi Przybyla from Politico made a striking assertion: if you believe that your rights and inherent value come from God rather than from government, you might be labeled as a Christian nationalist or extremist.

WHATEVER!

I guess I will always be considered dangerous under the new american standards forced on Americans by that muslim devil, barak hussain obama: and his equally evil demonrat minions.

QUOTE: HEIDI PRZYBYLA - February 23, 2024: {{"I talked with a lot of experts on this and I have seen it with my reporting, Michael, which is that the base of the Republican Party has shifted. Remember when Trump ran in 2016, a lot of the mainline evangelicals wanted nothing to do with the divorced real estate mogul who cheated on his wife with a porn star, and all of that.

So what happened was that he was surrounded by this more extremist element. We are going to hear words like Christian nationalism, like the "new apostolic reformation." These are groups that you should get very schooled on because they have a lot of power in Trump's circle. And the one thing that unites all of them because there's many different groups orbiting Trump.

But the thing that unites them as Christian nationalists, not Christians because Christian nationalists are very different, is that they believe that our rights as Americans and as all human beings do not come from any Earthly authority. They don't come from Congress, from the Supreme Court, they come from God. The problem with that is that they are determining, men, are determining what God is telling them. In the past, that so-called "natural law," it is a pillar of catholicism for instance, it has been used for good in social justice campaigns. Martin Luther King evoked it in talking about civil rights.

But now you have an extremist element of conservative Christians, who say that this applies specifically to issues including abortion, gay marriage, and it is going much further than that as you see, for instance, with the ruling in Alabama, this week that judges connected to the dominionist faction, and talking about a lot of other issues including surrogacy, IVF, sex education in schools, there's a lot in addition."}}

These media {voices} fevered by donkey pox, are laughable.

They are political hypocrites, holding rocks and waiting to stone people - and totally ignoring the beam in their own eye.

They are delusional lemmings, dancing to the warped obamanite tune that has DC in it's death grip.

I am not an adherent of NAR (the new apostolic reformation = vineyard/bethel ministries); those people are religious nuts.

I AM a Christian … a Messianic Christian; I follow the lifestyle and teaching of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach (Jesus, the Messiah). My value does come Elohim (according to the government, I have no value whatsoever); HIS WAYS do supersede government authorities - and my Home is not here, on Earth; however, as long as I live on this planet, Yeshua teaches that I am to obey the governing laws AS LONG AS THEY DO NOT REMOVE ELOHIM (God) FROM THE EQUATION. Obeying Elohim must always come first for Christians.

I am not a religious person - nor am I a political lapdog (no political party owns me) - I am an American, plain and simple; my body, my thoughts, my Faith, and my opinions belongs solely to me (not some religious affiliation, or political party). I have freewill, granted to me by the grace of Elohim - whether the obamanite demonrats acknowledge these facts,  or not.

obamanite DC is doing their damndest to take those God-given Rights from me, while labeling me as a domestic terrorist if I do not goose-step to their agenda mandates.

The obamanite {governing laws} coming out of DC is not wholesome; they are not productive - destruction is all they embrace, and reap. The wicked {governing laws} being forced on Americans … the racism directed at {white = no such skin color} people (Jews and Caucasians) is muslim based (and our Congress has been infiltrated with muslims), the insane fixation with homosexuality, gender tomfoolery, perverted {sex education} in schools … and "a lot in addition" is off the charts in this "new america" run by barak hussain obama and the black panther religion!

THAT MINDSET & SOCIAL MEDIA TALKING HEADS, IS THE TRUE DANGER TO AMERICA.

Man! It's freaking C.O.L.D!

Staying warm; layering Medieval Style ;-)

Holland stayed warm by busying himself outside: he folded the wire kennel down and dropped it off to the lady next door, who has a dog grooming business and said she'd be happy to have it … then he drove a bit further down the road to pour some gas into a neighboring widow's truck tank. When he came back home, he and David jawed for about an hour while contemplating the baby generator's misfiring issue.

Before he left, he mentioned driving to Ocean Park to dump the garbage, grab a few groceries, and drive down to the ocean; so while he was busy outside - I got busy tidying things up, inside; and busy getting ready to greet the public …

A touch of green brings out the green in my Hazel eyes ;-)

I thought a touch of green on my eyelids & lashes would psych me into feeling a bit of Spring, despite it sorely lagging ;-)

Stormy weather; high winds, unruly waves …
The tide had been very high - wet sand clear up to the dunes …
As soon as the weather warms up, Holland will cut these cute curls off.
Another storm front - will it ever end?

The ocean wind was blowing so hard, the camera had a hard time focusing for decent pictures :-(

The storm originated in the Philippines; blew through Hawaii, and is circling around to Long Beach-WA, from Canada.

I was kitchen chef tonight (played the 'wife' card ;-)), did the dishes … and now I'm off to a nice warm bed, with Clive to keep me company ;-)

I hope the Lamb decides to make an appearance at some point as 2024 plods along …
Let's get on with Spring, already!
UGH!!!

STEAMBOAT ALLEY~Toledo-WA

March 11th: Holland had an appointment in Toledo, and I like the little river town myself - so off we went this morning.

It was a slow, cold, wet, rainy drive under heavy dark clouds the entire way: we started off with a drive around the peninsula bay … and the rest of the day was scheduled to operate in slo-mo, too ;-)

A long day route was actually the shortest route …
The Willapa Bay Bridge over the Naselle River; linking Long Beach-WA to Naselle-WA
Long Beach-WA to Graysriver-WA; 43 min (34.0 mi) via US-101 N and WA-4 E
Scant snow showing along highway shoulders at the KM Summit.

There is some road slippage near the KM Summit, but the snow is disappearing with all the rainfall; and the snow that was on the mountains across the Columbia River, is pretty much gone.

When we drove this way on the 9th, snow was deeper along the KM route - and the mountains on the OR side of the River was heavy with snowy blanket cover.

KM Summit is 760 ft. - so the highway marker sign reads … google maps has it listed as 955 ft.: I knew that was not correct, because I used to walk over that {mountain} hill; from Skamokawa-WA to Graysriver-WA (sometimes around the Covered Bridge Loop, too) & sometimes into Appelo's in Naselle, every weekend from 12 yo to 14 yo before my family moved into Cathlamet-WA. That was not a terribly strenuous walk because the {mountain} was not that steep, or that long to cross over. I did stop at the summit though coming and going, for a 15-minute break (both ways) before beating feet again. It's only a half hour drive, so maybe a 2 hour hike 1-way … maybe 5 hours round trip, counting the Covered Bridge Loop, or the Naselle extension. I walked everywhere; I was in excellent shape in my younger years - still hiking the 8 to 10 miles range pretty regularly (not over the KM, though) until 2001, when a Dr. told me to cut my walking back to "1 mile In & 1 mile Out; no more than 2 miles max" ;-)

There was storm damage fallout, all along Ocean Beach Highway from Cathlamet to Longview - trees down, some limbs literally touching at the edge of the blacktop … wind-snapped & tossed-evergreen branches leaving a fragrant reminder of Mother Nature's temper tantrums; and road crews holding up traffic here and there; and the bridge work in Castle Rock is slowly creeping forward - it's been a long time getting to this point, so no one is complaining: the road surface over that bridge has been so pock-marked, it looked like the lunar surface of the moon, and felt like a minefield. Everyone is glad it is finally getting tended to.

And it looked like Peper's 49r Restaurant is back in business, again: a fire gutted it in February 2023 - I always enjoyed that place, so I'm glad to see it's comeback :-)

Mother Nature must have thrown a tizzy-fit overnight - there was wind-blown-debris all over the place; Stella-WA

Castle Rock Bridge work is still on-going …

Peper's 49r Restaurant looks like it's back in business …

Holland turned onto the freeway at this point, and drove the back way into Toledo (up the freeway from Castle Rock - turning at the Vader overpass): it was different.

I'd never been that way ;-)

Toledo holds memories for both of us; we had both spent time in this small river town in our pasts, but this is our first time here together.

While he was finishing up his business there, I discovered some more things about Toledo that I didn't know …

Long Beach-WA to Toledo-WA; 2 hr. (98.3 mi) via US-30 E
Sidewalk Mural fronts the P.O. parking lot.
Another mural attraction, across Main Street …
Tête-à-Tête Daffodils; for 44 years I planted lots of little things in the flowerbeds I used to have.
And trailing Vinca; I also planted lots of this for groundcover at 2 of the houses I shared with Bob, in Lexington-WA.
I've been coming to Toledo for decades, and never knew this town's History.
Steamboats of the Cowlitz River:

It was a slow day.

It was a day of memories - past, and present "in the making".

It was a day of business.

It was a day of discovery.

SLO-MO SATURDAY; Long Beach-WA

I had an up-&-down night last night … finally falling into bed around 1:30 AM; moving stealthily with the rainfall as cover, Holland snuck out of the bedroom this morning - and when I woke up it was 11:45 AM!

What a guy!

Most husbands would not tolerate a slo-mo wife, but my husband is Elohim's gift to me in my silver-hair days - and being that we are both retirees, he spoils me ;-)

I drank a cup of coffee to clear the cobwebs - then I got busy putting my new exercise toy together ;-)

After giving it a whirl, I engaged in more fun activities :-)

Uploaded a vintage1943 Movie … and finished the trim on this Boy Angel Baby Blanket.
Refueled with a sugary treat while planning my next Boy-themed ABB ;-)
I mentioned to my husband how handsome Red Skelton was in his hey-day; Holland failed to see the 'vintage' appeal ;-)
Laying the foundation for my  latest tiny blanket …
After Lucille & Red, I tuned into DJ Trump ;-)

I like the classics: classic America, classic men, classic music, classic designs, classic reads … they're hard to beat ;-)
