COSTLY MAINTENANCE~Shabbat Eve, Quartzsite-AZ

Well … we are certainly making memories across America ;-)

Some are enjoyable & fun, some are trying & not so much fun, and some - like today - are just a fluky memory in the making.

Tuesday we smelled a strong sewage odor on the breeze; we wrinkled our noses at it and thought it would pass when the traffic thinned out, eventually coming to an end when 5 PM rolled around. The Pit Stop, where we are currently parked, is the RV Park in Quartzsite where Rvr's come to get fresh water, fill their gray water tanks, fill their propane tanks, and flush their sewage tanks.

5 PM came and went … the stink did not. So, Holland went outside to see what was going on; we thought it may be a new camper had set up and didn't properly set the drain hose.

He came back inside and said, "You're not gonna believe this - our black water tank is leaking like a sieve. I placed a bucket under it, but I'm gonna have to call around tomorrow, and see if I can get someone to come out here."

So, that's what he did. It was Wednesday, and after calling every RV Repair and Maintenance place in town, one finally said, "There's only one guy in town that will deal with black tank issues - here's his number." Holland called; the guy said he'd be able to come Friday (today) around 10 AM … he showed at 10:30 AM.

A cordial, friendly man. We were thankful for his service.

Another 'factory malfunction' concerning Independence …

Another major expenditure - but necessary.

In the meanwhile, Holland removed things from the RV Bay, and put them in Betsy's back seat area; and I did my morning exercise routine. I want to stick to the daily grind and see the results of continuity ;-)

MINISTRATIONS~My Senior Exercise Plan 2024; #3 https://roadgypsiesvalandholland.blogspot.com/2024/01/ministrationsmy-senior-exercise-plan.html

The news we got from the fella, was that the black water tank has a crack in it that need wielding :-(

So the bay area was tore apart, the RV's front underside was pulled back, and the tank was removed: so was the all lining, hose workings and piping on the upper end of the RV - all that was ruined with the black water leakage. Labor, replacement materials, and wages came to a pretty hefty $$$$ total.

All the stinking stuff was hauled away; none of the leakage went beyond the immediate tank area.

The stench is gone - and the total price quoted is not as large as I was expecting (Holland was hoping for half of the quoted price), but really, for everything the price is quite reasonable.

(((THANK YOU, ELOHIM!)))

RV living can in some ways be as spendy as stick-built-money-pit housing, but I'd rather fork out big bucks to enjoy touring America that sitting in a foundational house dreaming of all the places we are blessed to get to see.

Then, we drove into town to get some broccoli for Supper ;-)

We like that our days are filled with laughter and unquestionable bonding, again.

I like this deepening love between us; we both like knowing that we are loved simply, and purely - imperfections, included.

We are blessed in so many ways ;-)

I like the attitude here; Arizona people are friendly people.
Everything in Life is a learning lesson. Trusting Elohim is a MUST.
Maybe Elohim put us together for 'a time such as this' ;-)
Love is a strong component - I'm glad that Lesson achieved a passing grade.
We are best friends - everyday we assure each other that we 'will be there, for the long haul; no matter what'; Holland has never had that kind of assurance before: he's learning to trust. It's a big step.
I am finally {enough} for me, and for my Husband. Life in the now, is good ;-)

The guy called Holland during Supper to say that the tank had been wielded; hopefully he will bring it by tomorrow. But since it's the weekend - it may be coming back Monday.

As long as this issue is fixed before we have to pull stakes here, on Thursday afternoon.

But, tonight, I'm going to enjoy my Shabbat rest … and let the Shabbat ministering angels minister peace to me while their presence blesses my Home :-)
