SHABBAT CONSIDERATIONS; Quartzsite-AZ

This is WHY I am an independent woman … while being a submissive Wife ;-)

On one hand, I bow in deference to my Husband's decisions, because that is what Elohim expects I do; if I claim to be daughter of His heart - and that is what my husband deserves, as he assumes leadership in our Home. On the other hand, there isn't a man on Earth I feel compelled to answer to. For anything: all the positions have been filled by the One - the only One - I seek for wisdom and direction 😉

He's always on call … and quick to come alongside me.

He never lies, cheats, or steals: He is not a man given to human weaknesses.

I know I can count on Him 100% to "come through"; there isn't a single place in my life that His presence does not fill 😁

YES … He has blessed me with a Husband: but I only answer to HIM … and only in this instance does my earth husband take second place in my Life.

RELAX~My Senior Exercise Plan 2024; #4/Shabbat Eve, Quartzsite-AZ

January 27th: Today was a relaxing laid-back kind of day :-)

My early morning hours were spent with Blue crowding my space, a brief reach-out-&-touch-someone text with a WA friend, and the beginning of working up another one of MOD Swiffer jet mop top … while watching the Dances With Wolves movie; it was nippy enough that I also added the RV's propane heat to the electric heater's warmth.

Bleu crowding my space …
Morning texting … & MOD Swiffer Mop Pad design.

When Holland got up, and woke up, he suggested taking Bleu for a run in Tyson's Wash; so, off we went. But once we got there, we decided to investigate the road further. While driving along, we noticed what looked like a mining operation … so, we followed the road deeper into the desert to get a peek at the mine: what looks close across the desert landscape is a lot further away than people think. We had driven about an hour and a half before we got close enough to get a good look at what had drawn our eyes in the first place.

The road was good most of the way; some places were deeply rutted, and Holland drove off-road (which is always fun). We all (Bleu included) enjoyed the vastness of the wide-open desert space.

Then we just sat in the silence of the moment and enjoyed the peaceful vibes of desert solitude.

I didn't take any pictures - I was just enjoying the day out with my two favorite fellas, who both add a lot of joy to my life ;-)

When we got back home, I worked my body some; and relaxed a lot more :-)

Even Supper was a laid-back thing: I went to bed early and snuggled with Clive while eating a few celery sticks with peanut butter spread on them … and Holland fended for himself after he touched base with WA family & friends.

Read another 100 pages of a Clive Cussler novel …
Blue casting a jealous eye, and wanting my full attention ;-)

Bleu wolfed his food (he always eats like it's his last meal), then meandered back and forth between the two of us; settling for a bit on the bed with me before laying at Holland's feet, and eventually putting himself to bed in his kennel - we had considered ditching the kennel, but he likes it: it's his personal space. He'll still be getting his own corner of the bedroom, eventually, but we're thinking the kennel will still be around for a while, too ;-)

Sleepy snuggles …
"Have a good week!"

MINISTERING MESSENGER ANGELS~Shabbat, Quartzsite-AZ

This morning, after I did my daily exercises, I got a little fancy with clothing: it was Shabbat Eve - and I wanted to welcome ministering angels into our home wearing something different than the pj's which have been my chosen comfy winter attire ;-)

This morning's exercise Post - MINISTRATIONS: (https://roadgypsiesvalandholland.blogspot.com/2024/01/ministrationsmy-senior-exercise-plan.html)

When I came into the livingroom, Holland looked at me like, 'are we going somewhere?' I laughed and said, "I want to get back to dressing a bit fancier on Friday's. I used to do this before … get a little gussied up to greet the Shabbat ministering angels." Holland shot me a blank look - and I asked, "You've never heard of ministering angels?" I know he has because his entire family can quote, verbatim, the entire Bible; but I said anyway - "Abraham and Sara, Daniel and the lion's den, Paul and his first missionary journey, Peter and the jail break …" He said, "Yes, I've heard of them; I just didn't know they were a Sabbath thing." I said, "They usher in the Shabbat peace. This winter hibernating bear feels the sunshine, and wants to welcome them in a little bit of style, on Friday's now." ;-)

The word for angel in Hebrew is malak (mal'ākh, מַלְאָך) it occurs 213 times in the Hebrew Bible. Because angels obey the Lord and serve Him (Psalm 103:20-21), Elohei Haelohim (el-oh-hey hail-oh-heem; The God of Gods) will often dispatch them to minister to Believers.

In the Scriptures, angels are described as “ministering spirits” who serve believers (Hebrews 1:13 & 14). Elohei often chooses to use angels to carry out His Will just as He often uses humans to bring about His divine purposes.

The scriptural truth that angels minister to believers is reassuring, but people must remember that God is the One who deserves the praise and glory.

Susana Allen - Shalom Aleichem song; Lyrics and Translation:

Angels are divine beings used by Elohim, Who sometimes chooses to send His angels to assist His children - but the ministering angels are not the central focus of Scripture - nor should they be the focus in a Christian life: ministering angels are significant only because they display Elohei’s care for His Own. Angels can be sent to offer physical help to believers, but oftentimes they give spiritual aid to Christians who are undergoing hardships.

Although the Bible is clear that angels minister to believers, there is not much information about how this is conducted practically … although we do know that during Yeshua Ha'Mashiach's earthly ministry, He was often served by angels during - or after difficult trials.

For instance, angels ministered to Yeshua after Lucifer tempted Him in the desert following his water baptism by John the Baptist (Matthew 4:10 & 11; Mark 1:12 & 13). Also, when Yeshua prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane before His arrest & subsequent crucifixion, angels attended Him there, also (Luke 22:42 & 43).

A few examples in Scripture do indicate that angels can be used to provide physical relief from suffering. In Genesis 21:15-20, we read that Yeshua, Himself, took pity on the rebellious Hagar and her son; and sustained them in the desert. It is recorded in the Book of Daniel, that Daniel’s life was preserved in a den of hungry lions (Daniel 6:19-22) and the apostles were released from prison by an angel (Acts 5:17-20). Also, Paul was safeguarded during his ministry by an angel sent by the Lord (Acts 27:21-24). The angels’ serving role is noteworthy not only because of the help provided to followers of Christ but also because it displays Elohim’s care for His children. Angels are not the ones who deserve recognition or glory because they are merely obeying God and serving Him by helping Christians.

As the Apostle John wrote, the Lord alone deserves the praise and glory of any help that Christians are given by angels (Revelation 22:8 & 9). Peter recognized this truth when an angel freed him when he was imprisoned by Herod (Acts 12:5-17). Instead of giving credit to the angel, he recognized that the Lord was the one who rescued him.

Bringing honor and glory to God is the significant work of angels who serve believers as ministering spirits - and what better service, than to be messengers of peace as Shabbat is ushered in :-)

COSTLY MAINTENANCE~Shabbat Eve, Quartzsite-AZ

Well … we are certainly making memories across America ;-)

Some are enjoyable & fun, some are trying & not so much fun, and some - like today - are just a fluky memory in the making.

Tuesday we smelled a strong sewage odor on the breeze; we wrinkled our noses at it and thought it would pass when the traffic thinned out, eventually coming to an end when 5 PM rolled around. The Pit Stop, where we are currently parked, is the RV Park in Quartzsite where Rvr's come to get fresh water, fill their gray water tanks, fill their propane tanks, and flush their sewage tanks.

5 PM came and went … the stink did not. So, Holland went outside to see what was going on; we thought it may be a new camper had set up and didn't properly set the drain hose.

He came back inside and said, "You're not gonna believe this - our black water tank is leaking like a sieve. I placed a bucket under it, but I'm gonna have to call around tomorrow, and see if I can get someone to come out here."

So, that's what he did. It was Wednesday, and after calling every RV Repair and Maintenance place in town, one finally said, "There's only one guy in town that will deal with black tank issues - here's his number." Holland called; the guy said he'd be able to come Friday (today) around 10 AM … he showed at 10:30 AM.

A cordial, friendly man. We were thankful for his service.

Another 'factory malfunction' concerning Independence …

Another major expenditure - but necessary.

In the meanwhile, Holland removed things from the RV Bay, and put them in Betsy's back seat area; and I did my morning exercise routine. I want to stick to the daily grind and see the results of continuity ;-)

MINISTRATIONS~My Senior Exercise Plan 2024; #3 https://roadgypsiesvalandholland.blogspot.com/2024/01/ministrationsmy-senior-exercise-plan.html

The news we got from the fella, was that the black water tank has a crack in it that need wielding :-(

So the bay area was tore apart, the RV's front underside was pulled back, and the tank was removed: so was the all lining, hose workings and piping on the upper end of the RV - all that was ruined with the black water leakage. Labor, replacement materials, and wages came to a pretty hefty $$$$ total.

All the stinking stuff was hauled away; none of the leakage went beyond the immediate tank area.

The stench is gone - and the total price quoted is not as large as I was expecting (Holland was hoping for half of the quoted price), but really, for everything the price is quite reasonable.

(((THANK YOU, ELOHIM!)))

RV living can in some ways be as spendy as stick-built-money-pit housing, but I'd rather fork out big bucks to enjoy touring America that sitting in a foundational house dreaming of all the places we are blessed to get to see.

Then, we drove into town to get some broccoli for Supper ;-)

We like that our days are filled with laughter and unquestionable bonding, again.

I like this deepening love between us; we both like knowing that we are loved simply, and purely - imperfections, included.

We are blessed in so many ways ;-)

I like the attitude here; Arizona people are friendly people.
Everything in Life is a learning lesson. Trusting Elohim is a MUST.
Maybe Elohim put us together for 'a time such as this' ;-)
Love is a strong component - I'm glad that Lesson achieved a passing grade.
We are best friends - everyday we assure each other that we 'will be there, for the long haul; no matter what'; Holland has never had that kind of assurance before: he's learning to trust. It's a big step.
I am finally {enough} for me, and for my Husband. Life in the now, is good ;-)

The guy called Holland during Supper to say that the tank had been wielded; hopefully he will bring it by tomorrow. But since it's the weekend - it may be coming back Monday.

As long as this issue is fixed before we have to pull stakes here, on Thursday afternoon.

But, tonight, I'm going to enjoy my Shabbat rest … and let the Shabbat ministering angels minister peace to me while their presence blesses my Home :-)

AISLE TUSSLE; Shabbat Eve/Quartzsite-AZ

January 12th: First off, Holland drove over to the Office here, to extend our stay a bit longer: we were wanting to stay here, at The Pit Stop, till the end of the month … but were only able to obtain our spot 'til next Saturday 🙁

Then, we drove into Parker to get some groceries:

Parker-Az from Quartzsite-AZ; 36 min (35.7 mi) via AZ-95 N

Parker-AZ: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parker,_Arizona

And some middle-aged-idiot couple started a fight with moi in the produce aisle … mouthy man, aggressive hip-bumping wife (action like the 1970's hustle dance) trying to bodily move me aside; it was stupidly childish the way they were behaving: the mouthy man, who apparently thinks every woman should back up and obey him, and his equally ignorant-arrogant wife … got treated to my particular brand of French while I stood my ground, and continued to gather my bell peppers … and slowly came to the realization that they had picked the wrong little woman to tangle with.

I was not intimidated by their asinine behavior.

The incident was ridiculous and they were acting like morons.

At one point during the tussle and argument, Holland and I both heard the change in the belligerent moron's tone, and I prepared for a physical attack - and then I heard Holland calmly, but firmly say, "That's enough now." Holland had taken note of the change in tone, too, and wasn't going to let his wife get punched out: over bell peppers, for goodness sake! The moron took his slanty eyes off me to look around to see who was talking - took one look at my handsome big guy … and he backed up, and shut up, asap.

Poor Bleu was so upset by the angry incident, he was a bad little dog in the store that treats him like a furry rock star. But people saw what had happened to his human mom, and they were lenient with him 😉

In the pickup, I said to Holland, "I didn't need you to step in … I would have cleaned that moron's clock if he had laid a single finger on me: but I was glad to hear your voice in the background. Thank you. I'm sorry if I embarrassed you, but some guys need to be taken down a peg - or two; the whole thing they started, was ridiculous: I have never seen that, or experienced that, in a store before. And, all over peppers, for Pete's sake!" Holland assured me that I hadn't embarrassed him.

In fact, he started laughing and said, "Boy, you really don't take any shit off anybody, do you?" And I said, "No; and especially not by mean-tempered men who think women should jump when they bark. But I am sorry I embarrassed you." He repeated, "You didn't embarrass me, Baby - get that right out of your head. I knew you could handle him, so I stayed back and let you do your thing - he was wrong, and you were doing okay all by yourself in dealing with him. But I wanted you to know you weren't alone if he got physical with you … and I wanted to make sure he understood that he had over-stepped."

I have a good man in my life :-)

I asked Elohim's forgiveness. I don't like to lose my temper.

And on the drive home, we talked about places to visit, while we are here. Parker isn't that far away … I could even visit some of the places myself, if Holland wants to stay home with Bleu ;-)

-Buckskin Mountain State Park: (https://azstateparks.com/buckskin/explore/facility-information#:~:text=All%20pets%20must%20be%20leashed,10%20p.m.%20to%207%20a.m.)

-La Paz County Park: (http://www.lapazcountyparks.com/la-paz-county-park.html)

Then, about a half hour after being home, while I was putting groceries away - Holland got a text saying a monthly payment had been declined - after some consideration, we both said at the same time, "Because the Card assigned to the payment is in dispute" (we are disputing overcharges by 2 Resorts - 1 Resort never even had our Card Account Info, so how they even got into the account to tap funds - funds we never authorized - is questionable, to say the least). With that understanding, Holland contacted the business and sorted a new payment plan out, online. We'll get new Cards when we get back to WA.

Following on the heels of that … Holland got a text saying "the people who were scheduled to occupy your current Park space have canceled; and would you like to rent it, as you requested this morning?"

OF COURSE!

We have stayed here before, and like it - it's a smaller Park, but there is a space for us here; and we like the host & attendants' attitudes. It is very busy here: but it's peaceful here, too :-)

The Pit Stop RV Park: (425 N Central Blvd, Quartzsite, AZ 85346)

Elohim is good - and He has turned our Day around, allowing a peaceful Shabbat Rest to settle over our humble Home 🙂

Holland made Supper for us; fried spam on raisin bread w-mayo, lettuce & Colby-jack cheese. YUM!
