DON'T LET THE LIGHT GO OUT~1st Night Hanukkah; Coalinga-CA

Today was a kick back day … we didn't do more than snack and nap πŸ˜‰

Holiday Cinnamon Rolls.

In between the snacking and napping, I did rouse myself enough to do a few light stretching exercises & scratch color off my scratch cards to reveal a small win 😊 - and Holland stirred himself enough to root around in Independence's basement to retrieve the propane heater and set it up in the kitchen for more heat; yes! it is that cold 😱, here. We'll burn propane during the daytime, and use electric heat during the night hours when we're sleeping.

Stepper = 3-5x week, at least 10-15 mins.
$5 winner card will be cashed in sometime in the next couple days …
Propane Heater pulled from the basement. We've been using electric heat, but a $400+ electric bill/mo. is outrageous. Propane keeps us cozy & it's much more affordable.

Today is also the day my first husband Bob, graduated to his glorious life beyond the clouds - and I honor his memory. He was a good man. He was a good husband to me; a good father & a good grandfather. I am a better person because he was in my life and loved me. People that knew him have also been positively influenced by his impact on their lives. I want always to keep those memories alive.

Of course I have remarried, and live my new life in the present - and Holland is understanding of those remembrances … but I never allow them to overshadow what we are building together.

Bob was.

Holland is; and I love Holland.

Bob was #1 in my Past Life.

Holland is #1 in my Present Life & I never want him to feel otherwise.

There is no comparison. Bob fit my life then … Holland fits my life, now πŸ‘©‍❤️‍πŸ’‹‍πŸ‘¨

Today being remembrance day, I have also dove-tailed the 2025 deaths that have affected both of us, into the memories stirred up:

My Earlier Post Today~2025 LOSSES; Coalinga-CA: https://roadgypsiesvalandholland.blogspot.com/2025/12/2025-losses-coalinga-ca.html

Today is also the 1st Day of Hanukkah 2025 πŸ•ŽπŸ•―️, and I do observe the holiday - not as much in this marriage as with my first husband; but more low-key in this marriage, as my current husband really struggles with my messianic faith. I strive for peace during holiday months πŸ•Š️

So, since I no longer have a menorah and Holland would not look favorably on the festive candle lighting … I've decided to integrate the holiday back into my life privately 🎧🎸🎢 with a flameless observance and songs listened to with headphones on:

1st night.
Peter, Paul & Mary - 'Don't Let The Light Go Out' song: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez1uoXFbPjA)

Lyrics:
Light one candle for the Maccabee children
With thanks their light didn't die;
Light one candle for the pain they endured
When their right to exist was denied;
Light one candle for the terrible sacrifice
Justice and freedom demand;
And light one candle for the wisdom to know
That the peacemaker's time is at hand!

Chorus:
Don't let the light go out,
It's lasted for so many years!
Don't let the light go out!
Let it shine through our love and our tears!

Lyrics:
Light one candle for the strength that we need
To never become our own foe;
Light one candle for those who are suff'ring
A pain they learned so long ago;
Light one candle for all we believe in,
That anger not tear us apart;
And light one candle to bind us together
With peace as the song in our heart!

(chorus)

Lyrics:
What is the memory that's valued so highly
That we keep it alive in that flame?
What's the commitment to those who have died?
We cry out "they've not died in vain,"
We have come this far, always believing
That justice will somehow prevail;
This is the burden, This is the promise,
This is why we will not fail!

(chorus)

Don't let the light go out!
Don't let the light go out!
Don't let the light go out!

SHABBAT CONSIDERATIONS; Quartzsite-AZ

This is WHY I am an independent woman … while being a submissive Wife ;-)

On one hand, I bow in deference to my Husband's decisions, because that is what Elohim expects I do; if I claim to be daughter of His heart - and that is what my husband deserves, as he assumes leadership in our Home. On the other hand, there isn't a man on Earth I feel compelled to answer to. For anything: all the positions have been filled by the One - the only One - I seek for wisdom and direction πŸ˜‰

He's always on call … and quick to come alongside me.

He never lies, cheats, or steals: He is not a man given to human weaknesses.

I know I can count on Him 100% to "come through"; there isn't a single place in my life that His presence does not fill 😁

YES … He has blessed me with a Husband: but I only answer to HIM … and only in this instance does my earth husband take second place in my Life.

RESURRECTION WEEK 2024

I love these vintage movies that used to be shown during Holy Holiday times.

I don't know why this movie is "age restricted" - there is no reason: I remember seeing this movie when I was 8 years old; I'm glad it is available to watch again, today :-)

SABBATH REST~A Powerful Gift From God

My new husband does not share my Messianic Faith; and he does not understand my Sabbath Day observation.

In fact, he thinks I adhere to seventh-day-adventist observances … even though I adamantly refute that cultish religion, and have repeatedly told him that I am not seventh-day-adventist in any way.

This misunderstanding has led to some weekend angst between us.

Holland has some religious things I'm uncomfortable with, too (like the bethel church mindset & music; which I believe is a religious cult); so, I prayerfully give him some slack on topics we agree to disagree on. I know that at some point Elohim will bring us to a middle ground we can both comfortably stand on ;-)

Yes, I observe the Sabbath Rest: I do this the best way I can - and sometimes my {rest} can get pretty harried when the world's chaos presses in on me. But the {rest} is always there - I never let that completely slide; no matter how the day unfolds: my thoughts are always focused on Yeshua and His place in my Life (if I cannot be reading His Word, I rely on the Ruach HaKo'desh - the Holy Spirit - to bring refreshing Scripture passages to the forefront of my thoughts). Music that uplifts, focuses on, and encourages reliance on Yeshua is always a part of my day (if not actually playing … it is running through my thoughts). If a chance encounter leads to sporadic fellowship - I'm feeling blessed and loved by Elohim. I eat on the Sabbath - if that includes grocery shopping and meal preparation, I know Yeshua understands and spreads His grace over the activity. I purposefully carve out time to spend with my husband - Holland is my gift from Elohim, I include thanksgiving for his presence in my life when I bless Elohim for all His gifts (which include the gift of salvation through His Son, Yeshua).

No matter what is going on Friday through Sunday, Yeshua is at the heart of it. Always.

I am not orthodox in any way/shape/or form, according to any religion: I adhere strictly to Scripture, which means I observe my Sabbath Rest by including and acknowledging the grace by which Yeshua, Himself, observed the Sabbath Rest.

I have some Jewish DNA (Ashkenazi on my father's side; Sephardi on my mother's side).

I am a Christian (follower, disciple, envoy of Yeshua (Jesus)).

I am a Messianic Believer = a Jewish Believer in Yeshua as the promised Messiah (Savior available to Jew and Gentile).

I am one in a sea of many that make up The Body of the church - I am The Church: I do not 'go to church'. Occasionally, when possible, I fellowship in a building filled with Believers (The Church), this is how I met Holland: but I do not believe sitting in a building makes me "saved". I believe that belief in Yeshua makes me saved, and that fellowshipping with, and sharing the Gospel with someone in the grocery store, in a Park, or walking a hiking trail can be just as effective (sometimes more so) than sitting in a building run by a religious corporation with a religious mindset. I believe Yeshua can minister through me and to me outside of a building titled, 'Church'.

I am The Church: I do not 'go to church'. Holland and I disagree on this, as well.

I, as a set-apart-person (saved and sealed by Elohim for Yeshua's purposes) keep the Sabbath Rest as a set-apart-time to focus on Yeshua. And … as Yeshua, Himself … I also tend to daily activities that need attending to: I do not withdraw from life unfolding around me, to sit on my laurels and stare into space. I engage in life unfolding around me, as He did (and does), while keeping the Day "holy" by submitting myself to His purposes at any given moment of the Day I have purposefully set aside to abide in Him.

I am not engaging in cultish behavior.

I am engaging in behavior Yeshua, Himself, exampled.

No matter what I am doing - I claim Friday sundown to Saturday sundown as "a time of rest"; meaning I shelf the worries and concerns of this world and focus solely on the goodness and faithfulness of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach (Jesus, The Messiah). And I include Sunday (The Lord's Day = Resurrection Day) in my Sabbath Rest, thereby extending my peaceful rest in the Godhead (Father-Son-Holy Spirit = the Trinity, Three in One). Obviously I am not observing any religion - or religious activity in MY Sabbath observances: by grace, and with the understanding of Scripture as I read it (verbatim), I honor Yeshua as He is meant to be honored, the best way I know, in how I understand His Word.

***************

(1) Yeshua (Creator) earmarked one day out of seven. He knew humans would need a reprieve from a busy week – a time to stop; a time to rest and reflect - a time to remember why we are living the lives we are living. It could even be understood that the need for the Sabbath Rest was designed and purposefully tucked into our DNA at the very beginning of mankind's birth.

(2) Prioritizing Sabbath Rest reminds us to rest in the presence of Yeshua, to offer up our shortcomings to Him, and to spend quality time in relationship with Him - and when possible, in fellowship with other Believers. Yeshua's Sabbath Rest requires that we set aside our works to set our hearts on Him. Sabbath redirects our gaze to the work done on the cross.

(3) Yeshua (Jesus) ministered, and healed, on the Sabbath Day … which brought harsh judgment from His critics, who challenged His authority over the Sabbath. When pious religious critics attacked Yeshua (Jesus) with scornful "you aren’t keeping the Sabbath right" accusations; based on their varied and complicated man-made regulations, they were ignorantly and arrogantly accusing the supreme designer and planner of Creation Week: the One Who had Himself blessed the seventh day and made it holy. Yeshua used the occasion to reiterate what had been true from the beginning: ‘The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.’ Man-made complicated religious restrictions, had reversed the original Plan. He then announced that He was ‘Lord even of the Sabbath’ (Mark 2:28) … its very Creator, and thus its rightful Interpreter.

(4) It is a common view (and misconception) that because of His nonorthodox treatment of the Sabbath, Yeshua (Jesus) abolished the need to observe the seventh day altogether … but that is a serious misrepresentation of Yeshua's actions and words: His Lordship does not abolish the Sabbath; why would Yeshua (Jesus) disregard something over which He claims Himself as Ruler? Instead, He reinforces the vitality of Sabbath Rest as a necessity for sustaining life, on every level. We, who claim Yeshua (Jesus) as our ‘Lord’ should open up space – the seventh day, as He planned – in reverence, to physically, emotionally, and spiritually benefit from the Lord of the Sabbath: Who looks to do good, Whose intentions are to save lives and make life enjoyable, and Who by grace restores health.

(5) For Early Believers (those Jewish converts who personally knew Yeshua when He walked among them, and those Jew & Gentile converts who heard and believed the Apostles' ministries, concerning Yeshua), to live by grace meant to not live by The Mosaic Law. So evidence for how the Early Church held to Sabbath Rest is varied. It seems the Early Church celebrated Sabbath as a remembrance of creation; but Yeshua's (Jesus’) resurrection lent new meaning to their Sabbaths.

We see first-day worship (Saturday night or Sunday morning, in honor of the day of Jesus’ resurrection) was often observed in conjunction with rest on the seventh day (Saturday). By the second century, Sunday worship was a widespread Christian tradition. Thus, it became known as the “Lord’s Day” and later Sunday, and in many denominations, it supplanted the Sabbath altogether, totally misrepresenting the Lord they claim to honor.

(6) There are many religious organizations (catholic, seventh-day-adventists, bethel charismatic) that observe cultish man-made Sabbath regulations; but when we, as Messianic Believers in Yeshua Ha'Mashiah (Jesus the Messiah) observe His Sabbath Rest as He intended (exampled in the first four Gospel Books), we can't go wrong.

And, eventually my new husband will come to an understanding of why the Sabbath Rest is necessary to Believers in Yeshua (Jesus).

THE LORD'S DAY IS UNFOLDING~Israel Today

I am not including any {news} source with this article because they all are slanted towards a chosen political viewpoint.

I stand on Scripture - Old & New Covenants.

I stand with Elohim' Word.

I stand with Israel.

***************

We are living in the days the Prophets & Apostles longed to see.

We are living in the days where we well may HEAR, 'Come up here, daughter' … 'Come up here, son' (The Rapture): WHY anyone would WANT to ignore that Call is beyond my understanding.

E.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. is in place for that occurrence.

We are living in the Days that may well kickstart the Banquet of The Lamb - which will LEAD TO the Second Return of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach.

The only thing needed for that is the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem (everything is ready; except the building permit).

We are living is exciting times.

Isn't it ironic that chaotic islamic terrorism will usher in the Jewish King that will destroy islam; and replace hellish evil with peace, love, and joy?

EXCITING DAYS!!!

That said … I will add this: I BELIEVE IN THE RAPTURE. I have waited for it all my life: for this time to arrive. IF the CALL comes I intend to answer it. So, to family and friends I say: "I love you. If you are saved, sanctified, and sealed - I will see you at The Banquet. If you STILL have not come to your senses … I hope you soon WILL; I want to see you in that Celestial City."

BREAKTHROUGH FOR THE GOSPEAL~Tree of Life/Israel

Tree of Life Ministry:

Breakthroughs for the Gospel

So how, you might ask, is this part of an answer to prayer?

First of all, “the Word of God is not chained” (2 Timothy 2:9b), and in spite of the opposition, there were many Israelis who stopped and spoke with us in depth, listened intently as we shared the Gospel, and asked questions out of a genuine desire to find the truth.

God opened up the doors to share with people from all different backgrounds – Orthodox Jews, Arab gang members, Jewish people in the New Age, secular and atheistic Jews, Muslim and nominal Christian Arabs, etc.

We then said, “On this very feast, when Yeshua was here on earth, He stood up and proclaimed, ‘“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water”’” (John 7:37b-38).

We explained, “Once we repent of our sins and believe in Yeshua who died for our sins and rose again, He cleanses us on the inside and fills us with His Holy Spirit. Then you never have to be dry spiritually again, because you have a relationship with the living God and His Spirit is like a river of life inside you! And even if you fall, you can repent and immediately receive His forgiveness and joy again. Or if you have tough circumstances you can remember how Yeshua showed the greatest love possible toward you and saved your soul, and you’ll be refilled with joy.”

This news excites me! 😁

I was saved when I was 8 years old, water baptized when I was 9 years old … and baptized in the Ruach HaKo'desh when I was 21 years old. I have been a Christian pretty much all of my life; and Elohim planted a love for Israel so deep in my heart that it has become a physical love as well as a spiritual love. I am seriously connected to Israel πŸ₯°

In the 1980's I watched with happy tears flowing, as Jews around the world heeded the spirit's call and boarded ships to make aliyah (immigration to Israel): this is End Time Scriptural Prophecy unfolding in our lifetime … AND YET NO AMERICAN CHURCH had ever made mention of it. πŸ€¨πŸ˜”πŸ˜Ÿ

But I mention it all the time. People need to know that things are heating up - and wrapping up. They need to be ready when that heavenly trumpet sounds.

It makes my heart happy to know there are Jewish Messianic believing Missionaries ministering to their fellow Jews in the streets of Israel πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜˜

End Time Prophecy unfolding!

Exciting!!

I have my ticket in hand, ready to answer The 'Come Home!' Call: do you?

THE PRICE EXTRACTED~Faith In Yeshua

I believe in The Rapture - I fully expect to be air lifted outta here "in the twinkling of an eye": everything is currently in place for that to happen in my lifetime 😁

I also believe that there is a possibility - given the present circumstances and situations endorsed and embraced by the demonic barak hussain obama loving hordes in DC and across this land, that I could be murdered simply for being a Christian … most certainly for being a Jew: AND THAT'S OKAY TOO πŸ˜‰

I'm ready "to go!" whenever and however. I bought my ticket to engage in either happy event, in 1965 - and I sealed the Deal in 1977. Despicable humans can kill my body, but they cannot destroy ME: {ME} belongs to Yeshua, and I am eagerly awaiting a change of Address πŸ’–

Thankfully my new Husband "gets me" and totally understands 😘

HOW THE APOSTLES DIED

1. Matthew: Suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia, Killed by a sword wound.

2. Mark: Died in Alexandria, Egypt , after being dragged by Horses through the streets until he was dead.

3. Luke: Was hanged in Greece as a result of his tremendous Preaching to the lost.

4. John: Faced martyrdom when he was boiled in huge Basin of boiling oil during a wave of persecution In Rome. However, he was miraculously delivered From death.

John was then sentenced to the mines on the prison Island of Patmos. He wrote his prophetic Book of Revelation on Patmos . The apostle John was later freed and returned to serve As Bishop of Edessa in modern Turkey . He died as an old man, the only apostle to die peacefully

5. Peter: He was crucified upside down on an x shaped cross. According to church tradition it was because he told his tormentors that he felt unworthy to die In the same way that Jesus Christ had died.

6. James: The leader of the church in Jerusalem , was thrown over a hundred feet down from the southeast pinnacle of the Temple when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. When they discovered that he survived the fall, his enemies beat James to death with a fuller's club.

This was the same pinnacle where Satan had taken Jesus during the Temptation.

7. James the Son of Zebedee: was a fisherman by trade when Jesus Called him to a lifetime of ministry.

As a strong leader of the church, James was beheaded at Jerusalem. The Roman officer who guarded James watched amazed as James defended his faith at his trial.

Later, the officer Walked beside James to the place of execution. Overcome by conviction, he declared his new faith to the judge and Knelt beside James to accept beheading as a Christian.

8. Bartholomew: Also known as Nathaniel: He Was a missionary to Asia. He witnessed for our Lord in present day Turkey. Bartholomew was martyred for his preaching in Armenia where he was flayed to death by a whip.

9. Andrew: He Was crucified on an x-shaped cross in Patras, Greece. After being whipped severely by seven soldiers they tied his body to the cross with cords to prolong his agony.

His followers reported that, when he was led toward the cross, Andrew saluted it in these words, "I have long desired and expected this happy hour. The cross has been consecrated by the body of Christ hanging on it". He continued to preach to his tormentors for two days until he expired.

10. Thomas: He Was stabbed with a spear in India during one of his missionary trips to establish the church in the Subcontinent.

11. Jude: He Was killed with arrows when he refused to deny his faith in Christ.

12. Matthias: The apostle chosen to replace the traitor Judas Iscariot. He was stoned and then beheaded.

13. Paul: He Was tortured and then beheaded by the evil Emperor Nero at Rome in A.D. 67. Paul endured a lengthy imprisonment, which allowed him to write his many epistles to the churches he had formed throughout the Roman Empire. These letters, which taught many of the foundational Doctrines of Christianity, form a large portion of the New Testament.

Perhaps this is a reminder to us that our sufferings here are indeed minor to compare to the intense persecution and cold cruelty faced by the apostles and disciples during their times For the sake of the Faith.

The Apostles were not afraid of death; they had been prepared for it … and they were witness to Yeshua's physical death, resurrection & ascension into Heaven before their very eyes. When persecution and eventual death arrived, they met it with unquestionable Faith in the Keeper of their soul. Yeshua had said, "And you shall be hated of all man for My Name's sake - but he that endures to the end shall be saved."

Pass on to encourage other Christians to 'keep the Faith!'

Why Do we feel sleepy in Prayer, but stay awake through a 3 hour movie?

Why are we so bored when we look at the HOLY BOOK. But find it easy to read other books?

Why is it so easy to ignore a message about God, yet we forward the nasty ones?

Why are Prayers getting smaller, but bars and clubs are expanding?

Why is it so easy to worship a celebrity, but very difficult to engage with God?

Make this message your contribution to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

YOM KIPPER~ Yeshua, The Sacrifice Lamb

Repentance, confession, and prayer to God do NOT replace sacrifices.

Yom Kippur is the day in Israel's history when the entire year's sins were forgiven and expunged, paving the way for reconciliation with the holy God. The majority of the priest's duties on that day used to center on the Temple, where he offered sacrifices, burned incense, and, on this one day each year, brought the blood of sacrifices into the Holy of Holies before the very presence of God. He also placed ceremonially, through confession, all of Israel's sin on the head of a male goat selected by lot. This scapegoat was then led outside the camp into the wilderness, signifying the removal of sin from the people.

Observing the Day of Atonement according to the Torah's instructions has been impossible since the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 A.D. In the post-Temple period, Jewish tradition teaches that atonement is found through confession, repentance, prayer to God, and reconciliation between individuals. This tradition is man-made and will not provide atonement. Atonement is found in the blood of Messiah alone. As 1 John 4:10 states: "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."

Atonement is a complete act of forgiveness, an act only God can transact. In His great mercy, God “wipes out” our sin. For Christians to see how the two faiths intertwine yet differ, read Hebrews, specifically - chapters 8 and 9."

Through the name of Jesus, we are healed, purified, sanctified, and we have been set apart as People of God; Joint-Heirs in Yeshua.

Yom Kipper~Eve

I am a Christian.

I am also a Jew.

I am a Messianic Jew in an Interfaith Marriage - Holland and I hold differing views on certain topics.

But above all, I am a Messianic Christian who believes Yeshua is the Messiah - Son of the Most High God, Savior of my soul, Redeemer and Deliverer; without the atoning blood of Yeshua, there is no salvation: on this we agree … and we agree to disagree on hot topics.

When the sun sets tonight, Yom Kippur begins.

Yom Kippur is also known as the Day of Atonement, and it is the holiest day of the year in Judaism. It's central themes are atonement and repentance. Jews traditionally observe Yom Kippur with a day-long fast, confession, and intensive prayer, often spending most of the day in synagogue services. Yet, the Hebrew Scriptures tell us that there is no atonement apart from the shedding of blood (Lev. 17:11). Without a temple, the sacrifices required by the Mosaic Law cannot be offered.

But Elohim has provided the final atonement in His Son, the Jewish Messiah, who has become our one and only atoning sacrifice (John the Baptist identifies Yeshua as Elohim's Son: John 1:34; the 12 Jewish Apostles recognized Yeshua is our blood atonement for our sins: Hebrews 10:12-14).

Listen to Dr. Fruchtenbaum explain the meaning of Yom Kippur from a Messianic viewpoint (I, personally, have met and sat under his teaching - it's solid Scripture based teaching), and pray for your unsaved Jewish friends and relatives to recognize God's perfect sacrifice during this holy season :-)
