QUIRKY CLOUDS; Long Beach Peninsula-WA

Before Holland woke up, I had enjoyed a morning coffee & used my Peak Flow Meter; finishing up the trim work on another ABB while he drank his coffee and cleared the mental cobwebs.

Eye-opening reading, this morning :-( & I finished trimming the latest ABB.

Placing his coffee mug in the sink he asked if I'd like to go for a drive: and off we went.

I'm going to be brief in posting today's activities and let the pictures speak for themselves, because it's late tonight and we have an early morning tomorrow … and getting posts up with this new Blogger format t.a.k.e.s.a.l.o.t.o.f.t.i.m.e. (I'm still debating with myself about keeping my Blog up because of this format :-( )

We started at Beard's Hollow and drove a beach drive loop back home through Oysterville - Holland had never driven through the little hamlet before, and I wanted to show him the little church: not a denomination I would be comfortable in, but it's pretty cool to see ;-)

Long Beach-WA: was laid out in 1880 by W.E. Willmore as Willmore City, the town was first settled in 1882. It was soon promoted as a seaside resort and was renamed (1888) for its 8.5-mile (13.5-km) beach.

Oysterville-WA: was established and named in 1854 by J.A. Clark. It was a hub of oyster farming as the name suggests. It was the seat of Pacific County until the seat was relocated to South Bend in 1893.

This looks like volcanic rock rubble; Beard's Hollow, Ilwaco-WA

Basaltic lava flows border the accreted land to the north and east; the steep cliffs that form North Head Bluff are rocks of the middle Eocene timeframe: these rocks are ancient lava flows that erupted underwater and were later scraped off onto the North American continent. These lavas are more resistant to erosion than sedimentary rocks, explaining why they form such prominent headlands in an area otherwise dominated by sandy beaches.

The waves are larger and wilder here, because the ocean slants deeper.

I saw a LOT going on with this particular cloud formation: 6 hearts, an atomic bomb mushroom cloud, a jellyfish (or a flying saucer); I couldn't decide if this cloud cluster was simply fanciful humor shaped by ocean winds - or an apocalyptic message ;-)

Oysterville Church; 1982 - basically began as little country catholic, or lutheran, church … and morphed into a nondenominational church.

LAZILY OCCUPIED SHABBAT~Long Beach-WA

Aside from putting the DC craziness aside for the next 24-hours, and prayerfully siding with Israel … I basically spent my day being lazily occupied ;-)

I spent enjoyable hours with my loving husband.

I worked on finishing up a little crochet angel baby blanket that will give comfort to a grieving mother/grieving parents …

I ate a light Supper, and watched a movie with a theme based around learning humility:

And I went to bed early - to lay lazily resting my body, and proxy-experiencing a riveting adventure :-)

300 pg.'s read so far - I should finish it by sundown, tomorrow ;-)

Everyone has a differing outlook on Sabbath observance; for me, the {Sabbath Rest} means to cease from worldly cares (aka; political entanglements, and other such stressors), and worldly job opportunities (work outside the home that garners income).

On the other hand, I do not believe that Elohim commanded us to become religious couch potatoes, wasting time and energy during the Shabbat timeframe. It is a good thing (and Scripture - old & new - prove this out), to set our thoughts on … and pray for … the peace of Israel: Israelites are God's Chosen People, and someday we Messianic Christians will also live in Jerusalem; it behooves us to spend time thinking, praying for, and supporting Israel. It is good to listen to good music that honors Elohim. It is good to do good deeds as we heed His calling upon our lives. It is good to learn/practice humility; watching a movie to that effect, is not a sinful activity, MPO - humility is a characteristic of Yeshua's Life, and something we also experience as we grow in the Ruach's guidance. And most of us have to learn that lesson the hard way. Yeshua's example - and Elohim's Word, are always in my foremost thoughts … I live my life by Yeshua's teachings/example, and Elohim's Word is etched on my heart - keeping me on the straight and narrow; but I also believe it is perfectly acceptable to rest and relax with a stimulating novel on the Sabbath.

This Friday has been a lazily enjoyable Day: I have been blessed in many ways from the beginning to the close of this Friday :-)

Hard Freeze coming our way …

Holland has been taking care of us very well - he prides himself on making sure the house is secure; and we are cozily safe within it's walls.

Elohim has truly blessed me with a wonderful husband :-)

Holland does not like the cold weather; he's chomping at the bit to cut his hair … but right now, he needs the length to keep his neck warm.

I like the way his curls kick in when his hair reaches a certain length …

Around noon, Bleu was getting himself into mischief … and Holland was thinking about a short exploratory drive around the local neighborhood.

Bleu and I were game :-)

Debate about the necessity of a half hour drive.

We didn't go far: just a looping mile or two.

Resort Lawn Décor; Arizona things that may present themselves at some point - a coral snake, a saguaro cactus, & a tortoise. So far, we've only seen the cactuses.

This week's outlook doesn't look promising, temperature wise …

These store doorway fans aren't currently needed.

But it was fun for all of us - and Holland and I laughed about how stormy weather has haunted us our entire marriage to date; a winter storm chased us from Reno and through calimexarabia, on our Wedding Day, across Oregon and kept us close to home, in Washington, the early weeks of our married life.

Seriously dangerous Spring storms chased us all the way back home from West Virginia, when we drove the distance to purchase our new home.

The bending and blending of two independent and self-sufficient lives, added 10 months of emotional and spiritual tempests that at times seemed to rival mother nature's spectacular events: thank the Lord we came through those stormy moments, too (a bit shaken, but otherwise unscathed - a little scared, but wiser for the experience) ;-)

When we got back home, and inside our home, domesticity comfortably wraps itself around us as we basked in loving familial cohesiveness while the rain tap-danced across Independence's rooftop :-)

I got busy on some comfy-warm, manly, house slippers for Holland; they would have been made up months ago if we had known about the (((SUPRISE!!))) weather ;-)

STORMY WEATHER~Shabbat, Tucson-AZ

Hot coffee was very welcome this morning … and I was checking the temperature outlook before my eyes were sufficiently open ;-)

The upcoming week doesn't look so hot either :-(

When Holland woke, drank his coffee, and shook his mental cobwebs … he spent the afternoon winterizing Independence against the winter storm front moving in this weekend.

This Orange Tree outside our dining room window, will probably be history after the freeze front moves on …

It doesn't really need doing, but I'm doing laundry before the freeze (hedging any unforeseen bets) - and hopefully none of the Resort water lines will burst as the cold front passes through: Tucson-AZ is not prepared for freezing weather; this is very unusual, in these parts.

As laundry loads are running through their cycles … and I cook Supper, I'm watching an old Ray Aldo & Anne Bancroft movie, while working on a ribbed Angel Baby Blanket as the day fades and Shabbat is ushered in.

No matter the stormy weather, peace reigns on Shabbat :-)
